To be honest I haven't been blown away by ANY of Nas features since Life is Good. Face it, his best lyrical days are behind him.

Life Is Good is a post-Obama classic rap album if you ask me. I actually probably listen to it more than any of his other albums. But 2012 was almost 4 years ago and I’m just NOTHING he has been talking about in his features has been inspiring me.  If so then post me some bars of something “fire” that he’s said? I understand he’s gotten into the tech world, he has been branded by Hennessy, is a Harvard Fellow, publisher and started back coddling Corporate America trying to get his money back up but I hope that hasn’t been the reason his music has been pretty tame.
 It literally sounds like he’s only doing these collabs (Jeezy, Beiber, Schoolboy Q, J-Lo, Miguel, Madonna, Rocko, etc) for money. He sounds bored and uninspired. I hope his passion for his upcoming solo hasn’t been lost in the marketing mix because I really never cared to hear Nas rapping about money, cash and clothes. That’s what I like Jay-Z for, he knows how to make capitalism sound good. I loved Nas because he was a ghetto poet, a teacher and socialist.  He needs to take his ass to Egypt or Mecca and get back to studying his lessons and put the champagne glass and coke-sniffing crowd alone until his album is completed. But Nas has always been very duplicitous between commercial and underground. 

I somewhat agree with you, but at the same time give those songs I listed a listen, they are pretty great. I think his Rocko ft. was fire though...even at his most uninspired there are jewels to behold...

@John Quincy Astor i hear what youre saying but think about it, nas has been rich with rich entertainment friends for 20+ years now. He wants to work with them. And yea we may prefer the qb projects nas the most but who only wants to do the same type of music non-stop. Working with some of these artist may not be his best music but it displays him to another large fan base. Its sometimes business over art. Its a fact of the music biz.

+John Quincy Astor He's an all around MC just like Jayz, Pac, Biggie and Snoop. He's been on both sides of the fence so him rapping about cars, jewelry and women was nothing new. He's been rapping about that since the 90s. He's not doing it for money. He actually likes jewelry in interviews. Shit he even rides in a Maybach. He says he always like certain things and there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah it was not my favorite verse from Nas, but it wasn't his first. Amerie and a few 90's r&b joints he featured on. If I was in the studio with him, I would push him to the limit like the verse from incarcerated scarfaces. He did rick ross and young jeezy justice though.
