Yardbirds, The - I Can't Make Your Way Lyrics

I can't make your way.
Silly men, they all get worried,
Live their life so worthlessly,
Troubled, bothered, flustered, hurried,
They should take a look at me.
Taxman, rentman, they all chase me,
I ain't home when they come round.
Got no money, live my life free,
That's the best way, I have found.

I can't make your way.
I can't make your way.

I can't make your way.
Is that me I hear you calling?
Do I hear you call my name?
It ain't me that will be falling,
Ten years time, I'll be the same.

I can't make your way.
I can't make your way.
I can't make your way.
I can't make your way.
I can't make your way.

I still have this vinyl but no player. You can hear Jeff singing here. He promised he will never ever do it again but he lied.
He did the Hi-Ho Silver Lining! He did not hear what Mama said.

    M.... S....

Yea, why doesn't Jeff ever sing?

I love this song, but everyone, do yourselves a favor and find a mono version. Much better.

Andrew Robie I got it luckily I still have it on my other albums got stolen I had that one in the storage unit

  6. M.... ....

This song is wonderful...wonderful guitar, thanks Jeff Beck!!

"pidgeon 'cooing' sound" ... actually, that's pretty apt. You're spot on, Jeff was the first of the great 'rock' guitarists and an absolute trailblazer. The Yardbirds influence is simply incalculable. I just love 'em.

I once read an interview with Ritchie Blackmore and he said the only 2 guitarist from whom he learned something were Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck.Beck is a genious.Never enough recognized.Probably the best of all time, and sure the best at the 60´s

  9. l.... ....

Not to mention that he is practically the only one left who still uses the tail piece to bend notes.

  10. m.... ....

One hell of a tone he gets on that guitar!

Even way back then Jeff was always inventing stuff! In this song, he creates sort of a pidgeon 'cooing' sound, followed by a great sad 'violin' type soaring sound during the instrumental sections. Yet, to this day he gets very little credit for changing the sound and style of the electric guitar before Hendrix or anyone else, which would directly and indirectly afffect some of the most famous guitarists in the world, along with countless thousands (millions?) of guitarists since!
