Wynette, Tammy - Sometimes When We Touch Lyrics
You ask me if I love you and I choke on my reply
I'd rather hurt you honestly than mislead you with a lie
Who am I to judge you for what you say I do
I'm only just beginning to see the real you
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die till we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
Romance and all its strategy leaves me battlin' with my pride
But through the insecurity some tenderness survives
I'm just another writer still trapped within my truths
And you're a hesitant prizefighter still trapped within your youth
Sometimes when we touch the honesty's too much
I wanna hold you till I die till we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
At times I understand you and I know how hard you've tried
I've watched while love commands you and I've watched love pass you by
And at times I think we're drifters searching for a friend
A brother or a sister but then the passion flares again
Sometimes when we touch the honesty's too much
And I have to close my eyes and hide
I wanna hold you till I die till we both break down and cry
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides
I wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides

Wynette, Tammy Sometimes When We Touch Comments
This version shows bass and honesty of the Dan Hill original.
Tammy Wynette is the best ! You can still hear the sweetness in her voice and the tone is still there. At that time her health was starting to fade. she had @ 30 operations on her stomach, and became addicted to pain meds. The meds effect your breathing. I think she would have been even a bigger star if it had not been for her health. In the 60's men ruled C@W music and women were there opening acts. TAMMY WYNETTE helped change that by being the first women to sell a million records. " THE FIRST LADY OF COUNTRY AND WESTERN" Stand by your man" is not a door mat song about women. " Cause after all he's just a man" HELLO it was a love song. 21#1cma top female vocalist 3 time in a row which has only been broken once and she was the first women to do that! a long with so many other awards and 2 Grammy's she is really at this time under rated. In her time she and Loretta and Dolly are and still are the main women in country music most of the newer lady's don't even know how c@w sound.s like.sound today is not c@w music it's pop CRAP! no thank you.
Mark has most beautiful voice and touching voice when he sings,
When in '85 did this peak? I know it was released in Jan./Feb. of that year.
