Talking Book is my favorite Stevie album because of this song and I believe when I fall in love. This song though is so full of longing and heartache. When my man sings “wish I could tell you what I am feeling but words won’t come for me to speak,” I feel it every time. It’s such a deep song cuz Syreta wrote it and it’s detailing regret after a break up.

I always turn to Stevie’s music 🎶 when I need healing. No other music lifts my spirit and helps me to resolve my inner concerns and issues. Thank you 🙏 so much, Steve, for the Music from your mind within.

It's so hard to pick the best of Stevie's songs but this one has so much heart and soul I can't see how anyone cannot be moved deeply by a man whose real sight and insight into life and love he was for many years and still knows how to do and his feeling in his songs are in dimensions above others-no disrespect but this talent is God Given and unique beyond belief. Can't tell you how many times listening to Stevie's music helped me through many periods of his life because I could feel he knew exactly how I felt or what I was going through, be it good, bad or euphoric!

That stretch of albums (Talking Book/Innervisions/FFF/Songs In The Key of Life) never fails to amaze. Lemme tell ya from personal experience...makes any musician who can see perfectly well want to go hide in a corner and cry. The guy is just embarrasingly talented, and this tune is all the proof you need.

This marvelous album started a string of, in my opinion, 4 of the greatest albums by anyone, anytime. Talking Book, Innervisions, Fulfillingness' First Finale, Songs in the Key of Life. I'll stack them up against anyone else. But Stevie's themes are love & living. So they're not really "against" anyone. Thank you, Stevie!

@fucu41 um.. i think too many live instruments (don't get me wrong I LOVE live instruments) But this record is like a collage of music from all over the place. Too many things going on (which is fine) but it's not "tight' enough. I think Fugees' rendition is better (more flowing and easy to follow).
