Wings - Picasso's Last Words (Drink To Me) Lyrics
The grand old painter died last night
His paintings on the wall
Before he went he bade us well
And said goodnight to us all.
Drink to me, drink to my health
Drink to me, drink to my health
You know i can't drink any more
3 o'clock in the morning
I'm getting ready for bed
It came without a warning
But i'll be waiting for you baby
I'll be waiting for you there
So drink to me drink to my health
Drink to me drink to my health
You know i can't drink any more
French interlude
Temp change
Jet... drink to me
Drunken chorus
French (tempo) drink to me... ho hey ho

Wings Picasso's Last Words (Drink To Me) Comments
Brilliant song... especially how it was written. Talent like this is difficult to comprehend.
McCartney stuff was mostly bubblegum music, a few were winners. Picasso last words was one of his best band on the run was in my opinion his best. Sure there was ram. But to me this one stood out.
The live wings over America version of this blending into Denny singing Richard Corey was fantastic.
Ginger Baker (RIP) was part of this recording...
real genius
Thank you, Dustin.
My favorite album from Paul and Wings...
RIP Ginger Baker

This is just a masterpiece
formidable.
Picasso was 89? When passed....you know he couldn't paint anymore than he did. I like how they snuck in that "Jet"
Picasso musta died during the making of the album... 1973.
Paul McCartney was actually in Jamaica when they were filling Papillon with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman and Hoffman made the claim Paul couldn't write a song out of the blue about anything so Paul challenged him and Hoffman pulled out a newspaper and at that time Picasso just passed with his last words printed on it, and McCartney just wrote up the song on the spot in front of him.
This reminds me of the bird that drinx
Первая пластинка. Ностальгия. До мурашек.
I like this song
Beautifully written for a winter Friday afternoon in a quiet place...
Somehow I missed this music in my 40 year listening career. It's like rediscovering the Beetles !
@Rachel C. Patz Ha, thnx I know, but up until recently had not heard it. One can see how McCartney was such a major component of the Beatles sound.
I honestly thing this album and Venus and Mars is as good as any of his Beatles music.
@SydTheGoat BTW its "Beatles" I'm jus sayn'
@davidd12391 no way but still good
Rest in peace Pablo Picasso
(1881-1973)
I love the different transition
I love your profile picture.
I thought it was Socrates' last words
A bugger for the bottle!
Give John $5 for the chicken.
@Uetti That was Aristotle. Socrates himself is particularly missed, a great little thinker but a bugger when he's pissed.
picasso era abstemio
No lo sabía. Lo hizo mejor que yo. For those who don't speak Spanish, he said Picasso was a teetotaller and I said I didn't know that and he did better than me.
