Wilson, Steven - Significant Other Lyrics
Pullin’ back from the precipice
Feel so small now, stars shine bright above
Don’t know why
Receive a better life for a song
Can’t but try, other leads apply
Lookin’ up at tragic rush on underground
Birds will turn and fly
Don’t know why
Passin’ through the day, only child
Breathe a sigh, other leads apply
Raining all day, trying to reach you
Feel so helpless, can’t stop counting time (but in)
Don’t know why, hands [?] stealin’ my heart
Graceful dives, other leads apply (rain down from the sky)

Beauty..
So strong, it frightens me
My favorite song of Steven Wilson
Those notes****** hwo can resist dancing under the sky with a woman at the end of the day on those chords ? Remember 'Shadow of hierophant' (Steve hackett, and listen the live version with..Wilson) .both are the doors to another world .just...sublime.
Love. Pure love.
Masterpiece
no wonder he doesn't play this live. killing me bloody fingers, mate
The first time I heard this song, I was driving. I wanted to pull over and cry....
It's so serene, and then the end always creeps me out XD
I love it!

A song for Elizabeth Frazer....genius!!!!
this track changed my life. fo' real.
This is how armageddon sounds like
Probably the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Makes me think instantly of the cold, crisp, colorful yet depressing swedish autumn, the feeling of a new beginning but also being put under pressure again. There is something about the mix between calmness and intensity that really captures my mind when I hear this song, Steven is a truly genius! And the female who sings in the background; absolutely stunning and gives the song another dimension, this song is a masterpiece!!
the backgound singer is Clodagh Simonds btw
Fucking blown mind!
Subterranean homesick alien
First day of Spring brought me here today 😌🌷🌞☘️🌱🎼
Last Day Of June
Last Day Of June bring me here
Same... and some tears too ^^'
Fell in love with this song through Last Day Of June.
Exactly the same thing, that music at this point of the game was surprising and very emotional... So beautiful...
Almost last days of June feel the same
I clicked this video today for the first time... not last day, but end of June :)
One off my all time favorits.
Last day of June? :(
So sad, so beautiful.
you can actualy dance to this song

extraño.entretenido.diferente...pararece de otra dimencion este tema...grande steven wilson.....
Esta canción me hace sentir nostalgia y tranquilidad :)
wow! SW
this is beautiful
con este tema me desconecto x un instante simplemente magico.!!!!
his closest attempt at shoegaze
TheOxtailSoup I think his new single just took that spot
The climax to Pariah is almost completely shoegaze though; soundscaping, tons of distortion, simple drums and bass, you name it.
Gracias, Pepe Potencia por subir el vídeo. Saludos desde Perú.
One the most beautiful songs ever made.
Impossibly beautiful...
I'm trying to imagine a movie, where you could have a scene which would be perfect to have this as the soundtrack.
Here is my guess of what would be the key themes of the movie : Regret, Nostalgia, Death
maybe a psicopath who kidnapps people and literally open the heads to search for memories
+Fernando Moreno ..and by accident he finds its lost brother...Who also faced the "beast" and yet didn't became a killer...
Genius!
One of my all time favorite songs. The melody is breathtaking an the use of tension and release is a stroke of genius.
I thought it was Sid Wilson with that mask, then i read it was Steven Wilson xDD
Lol! Still a SW either way you look at it!.
Are you my Mummy?
+Maria Diaz Doctor Who.
Anshu Pandey GO TO YOUR ROOM
Loop de hoy... me encantó, especialmente desde el minuto 1:34
Voz que lo acompaña: Clodagh Simonds.
RadioSteven - Subterranean Homesick Wilson
@RadonX9 It isn't really the same though is it....I wouldn't call this a rip off song by ANY means.
@huzidamasta Definitely not a rip off, but I can see the similarity
Omg tsiscooool
This song reminds me of Zora's Domain.
+Gross Negligence I'm usually the guy who compares songs from bands to video game music, glad I'm not the only one, and cool to hear this because I didn't draw that connection immediately but now I hear it.
Fuck yeah.
I always wondered why Steven never played this song live. He should recruit a femal vocalist to sing on his band. I love the current band, but they can do so much more with fresh, modern approach to his music. I have nothing against his love for the past, but I think he can use his influence and do something more with it.
@Trev James I remember seeing the Britainia documentary on prog, they devoted several minutes to the notion that prog is pretty much a boys club. There are some women in prog, & more come along every now & then, but I think it's pretty much a fact that prog, in general, both on stage & in the crowd (so to speak) is indeed dominated by men. Sad, really, but hey, that's the way it is!
If you see the new trailer for his solo album #4, I think our comments has been answered.
@raxc5 Haha! I saw the video today & was thinking just the same thing!
nice, you guys should check out the downloadable song " the old peace" released by SW and marias duda of riverside. Its a collabration usiong the lyrics written by my best friend who died recently. Its a great tune and its wonderful that my friend alecs two favorite musicians collaborated in honor of him! Also the band " No sound" released a song with my friend alecs poetry as wrell. thats called " celebration of life" Yall should try and download it!!
it seems he responded to your comment!
This song makes me nostalgic for things I've never known.
Anemoia
He played this live at the concert I saw and It was even more fantastic
There's only so much goosebumps a body can take.
Wonderful !
he played a few dates (very private gigs and media sessions) in México :)
Classic!
Esta canción me mata... esos coros! Wilson definitivamente es un genio, doy gracias de haber nacido en este tiempo para conocer su música
Did a 1/2n1/2 album tour in 2011; played Insurgentes + Grace For Drowning @ House of Blues in Orlando and got to see his first U.S. gig with new band; my eyes rolled backwards into my skull and I saw the light; opened my eyes and saw the darkness; good soul scratching by my ears, too; do not miss his tour gigs
5 people dislike this ? who can be so stupid ?
I woofed all along to this....Amazing track...
awesome!
I feel like I want to commit suicide.
Great song.
You alive?
I hope you are still alive.
<3
I miss you :c
SW is the King Midas of music...by his own or in collaboration with whoever,is a natural creator of beauty !!
Orgasm in: 3:08
i heard postcard on the radio once
This song will be played during the end of the world.
there are no dumb questions, only dumb radios.
I love you too, Hans.
<3
This song is so fucking amazing. I really love her so much :c
YES I KNOW THATS WHY I LISTEN TO INTERNET RADIO IT WOULD BE NICE TO LISTEN TO A GREAT SONG ONCE IN AWHILE ON REGULAR RADIO SO I DO NOT THINK IT IS A DUMB QUESTION.
It's impossible to describe how amazingly gorgeous this song it
That is the best progression on a chorus that I ever hear...
One of many reasons Insurgentes is better than Grace for Drowning (though both are excellent)
Why is this song not on the radio.
Totally agreed! Too bad at all...
4:33 is the worst part
And House M.D., the best medical drama series in the world either!! =D
Thank You! In Absentia, the best CD in the world!!!!
This is the internal soundtrack to that moment you realize you're in love.
Exactly! :D
As if the "ONE" between your exclamation marks wasn't enough to indicate that...
Pure art. Pure genius. Steven Wilson.
Esos coros!! son excelentes, steven sos un genio!
oh my god guys, how can you not see that i was being sarcastic.
I read a recent interview with Matthew from Muse and they asked him if he listened to bands with political lyrics like Porcupine Tree and he said he didn't know the band. So I doubt that Chris was influenced by them or by Wilson because if that was the case, I guess Matt would have heard of them. They've never been afraid or reluctant to talk about their influences in albums or songs. It's the atmosphere in both songs what might sound similar at some specific moments but they're very different.
Exactly! Didn't "Save Me" just come out literally this week on the new album? Insurgentes came out in late 2008. Do the math; 2008 was before this week. If anything, "Save Me" may have ripped off "Significant Other". But I still don't think so.
Oh come on now. I hear the similarity, but that's definitely not a rip-off. It happens.
When Steven is there, you can anticipate magic and a tremendous Grace For Drowning in his euphonical music. . \SW/
lol this album came out over 3 years ago but I def see the similarities. Both tracks are great :)
Haha, maybe I'm not the only one who uses SW's music as an accompaniment to Fallout? Bass Communion II + Fallout 3 = bliss 8)
THIS IS A RIP OFF OF SAVE ME BY MUSE!!!!11!!!ONE!
this doesn't "help" son, Its to have some fun. Relax...and enjoy the life
That's kind of sad, but whatever helps you sleep at night man...
Amen to that. I feel the same way
This is genuinely one of the few songs that can nearly bring me to tears through the sheer beauty of sound.
When I hear this I just want a fucking LSD or some fresh weed....
See the music video I made for this song. It's on my main channel page. :)
April 21th 2012 SAO PAULO BRAZIL! HELL YEAH!
