Wilson Pickett - Don't Fight It Lyrics
There you sit
All by yo'self
Everybody's dancin'
They can't a-help themselves
You can't a-hold out longer
So get up
Don't fight it
(You got to feel it, feel it)
You better get on up
And get that groove
You know what, baby?
I like the way you move!
Like you oughta be, alright
So don't fight it
Whoa, baby, yeah, yeah
(Feel it, feel it)
[sax & instrumental]
The way you, Jerk
The way you do The Twine
You're too much, baby
I'd like to make you mine
And after the dance
I'm gonna take you home
So don't fight it
Baby, you've got to feel
(Feel it, feel it)
Don't fight it, oh, no
(Feel it, feel it)
You got to feel
(Feel it, feel it)
[FADES]
You can't fight it
(Feel it, feel it)

Wilson Pickett Don't Fight It Comments
Song written by Wilson ,and Cropper. They collaborated often.
This song is just killer blues tune.
My favorite Pickett tune.
Get that groove ...
Love it !
Soooo cooool!!!
Use to lock my grandmas door stand on her bed with hair brush for my mic and imagine that a crowd of over a hundred girls were listening to me singing (Don’t fight it).
that mix on Don't Fight It and Three Time Loser - so crazy good - people try & cannot imitate - more exciting than the Beatles, who did work ensemble band tone to great effect - but this is beyond, as were the JB records, for mix - I mean they blew up a Wurlitzer jukebox when you got to one
Mustang Sally!!!!
I was 19 when this song hit the charts, it still puts me in the groove 50 years later.
'have mercy'. burn baby burn!!
My all time favorite Wilson Pickett song....oh how much fun it was to dance to it.
So get up, don't fight it, you got to feel it.

From the Golden age.
Genius - Real Music from the golden years !!!
oh man memories
The original recording of this song has Patti Labelle and the Bluebells singing back up. This may be it.
Band is Booker T and the MG's. Song was written by guitarist Steve Cropper.
One of their best
Steve Cropper & Wilson Pickett wrote this song..
"Steve Cropper is the guvnor." - Steve Marriott
WOW WOW WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From a 72yo Aussie fan.
One of the very best soul singers of all time.
What would have Wilson thought of the current Music Crap?
He would have slapped their mamma's in the mouth.
Timothy Mckee Would have served those mammas right. I'm 42 years old and grew up enjoying listening to my mother's extensive R&B collection. Call me old school if you want but the majority of music is nothing but garbage...
What would he have thought of The Doors cover at the London Fog in '66?
@EMC2Scotia He would be fine with it..
Another great talent with true deep soul so don't fight it.
Timeless dancefloor rubber burner - and that double key change is unique? Fabulous track.
almost 7 decades have passed and this song gets me up every time I play it. How can anyone not "move" to this!! Thanks for the upload.
Oh how right you are! Brings back amazing dancing memories!!
An all time classic from back in the day played at the all-nighters in London around '65. Simply one of the best from the wicked pickett.
killer track from soul legend wilson pickett. if that lady i love does love me don't fight it.love me.
Memphis Soul, baby! The greatest sound this planet has ever heard.
Oh yeah, baby
yeeeeeh Wilson THE MAN yeeeeh
back when they made real music...
You better believe it.
I am a white boy that covered these numbers in the 60's. What a thrill.
Mkulu Clive me too. Rocks along doesn't it. Hard one to follow.
Great record. Thanks for posting.
The last band I was with an 8-piece group that featured soul and r&b. As originally recorded, "Don't Fight It" was too short for club gig. My chart extended it by adding a sax solo (after changing to a better key for him to play it in using the signature horn section you can hear throughout the tune) and then vamping the "Feel It" ending until we sensed it was a good time to stop. It was always a club favorite.
F< triple F, my records got stolen, tnx to Lambon , i dont have soul no more, tnx for upload, this is good music, wish i still had , snif.

On this day in 1966 {January 29th} Wilson Pckett performed "Don't Fight It" on the syndicated television program 'Hollywood A Go-Go'...
Two months earlier on November 6th, 1965 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #53 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100...
It reached #4 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart and #29 in the U.K.
In some part of the U.S. the flip side, "It's All Over" was considered the A-side...
R.I.P. Mr. Wilson {1941 - 2006} and Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012}

O "muzica" de rãhat oribila cãntata de o maimutã americana!
tout ce qui a été fait avec Steve Cropper est génial
moi aussi
Love it,love it,love it!!
This is probably next to my favorite by the wicked Picket, "I'm In Love."
This is beautiful! I used to dance my ass off to this back in the 60s. Wilson is King!
@idedaryl Jerry Wexler,,UNSUNG HERO for most of these soul songs,,Passed away recently,,was a friend of mine's neighbor in Venice Fla. Saw him several times,,you'd never guessed he was a GIANT IN THE RECORD BUSINESS.
GREAT GREAT GREAT. Played the hell outa this thing when I was at WGOW in Chattanooga, In the 70's TheMojoMan*com
Southern Soul - like this record - is amazing for many reasons, but one of them is that the studio bands (in a time when such things were not always possible) were composed of both blacks and whites working together. It wasn't only blacks and whites, it was rural and urban folks getting mixed together, and southern and northern... but it all worked and the results went down in music history. Call me biased, because I'm from the south, but nothing else sounds as good to me as these cats playing.
@boatingbc: Welcome to the party! I was fortunate to hear this music as a kid, and nothing has ever been able to replace it for me, in terms of impact, quality and for being memorable. Most modern-day singers, even the good ones, sound like pretenders next to the Wicked Pickett. Not only was Pickett an extremely powerful and soulful singer (and a skilled performer and artist), his bands were always just about the hottest ones around. Stax and Muscle Shoals - you can't do better than that.
Finally found "DON'T FIGHT IT" prod. and recorded at he Stax Studio for Atlanic Rec. thesame backing as Otis Booker.T Jones And The MGs an Horn section The Barkays, what a groove......
Oh, Lawsy! Thanks for posting this.
OMG- this is got the greatest groove EVER in the history of music! Absolutely kick arse, MATE!
