Willie Nelson - Washing The Dishes Lyrics

Washing the dishes scrubbing the floors
Caring for someone who don't care anymore
Learning to hate all the things that she once loved to do
Like washing his shirts and never complaining except of red stains on the collars
Ironin' and cryin' cryin' and ironin' caring for someone who don't care anymore
Someday she'll just walk away

I was home with my first child. We were way out in country. Not close to any friends or young moms. This album just spoke to me. I fell in love with Willie

I've been hearing Willie Nelson's music since I was a young 'un in the early 1960s. The very first album of his that I bought was "Shotgun Willie", which was the album right before "Phases & Stages", AND the album that is considered his beginning in the
    "Outlaw" movement.

Thanks Sean Buffington for posting this. This song and the whole album has so much meaning for me. So; our lives, together, getting apart, lovin', cryin'.  Wille is telling it all as it always is and has been. Check out the song 'Pretend I never happened...'  At least and at long last, real words related to me and my life after 30 years of being married and unhappy.
