Williams, Hank - Pan American Lyrics
I have heard your stories about your fast trains
But now I'll tell you about one all the southern folks have seen
She's the beauty of the southlands listen to that whistle scream
It's that Pan American on her way to New Or-leans.
When she passes that Nashville tower you can hear that whistle whine
Stick your head out the window and feel that southern breeze
your on that Pan American on her way to New Or-leans.
Ohio and Kentucky Tennessee and Alabam, the delta state of
Mississippi, she's Louisina Bound, of the trains in the southland
this one is the queen, all the way from Cincinnati down to New Orleans.
If your ever in the south lands and want to see the scenes
Just get your self a ticket on that Pan American Queen
You pass right through then all when your New Orleans bound.
She leaves Cincinnati headin' down that Dixie line
When she passes that Nashville tower you can hear that whistle whine
Stick your head out the window and feel that southern breeze
your on that Pan American on her way to New Or-leans.

The opening fiddle sound so amazing 😀😀🎻🎻🎻🎻
Recorded Feb 13th 1947 at Castle Recordings Studio D WSM radio station Nashville TN. Session personnel: Hank Williams ( vocals and guitar) , Zeke Turner ( electric guitar), Louis Innis ( rhythm guitar), Dale "Smokey " Lohman ( steel guitar), Tommy Jackson ( fiddle) and Ernie Newton ( bass)
E171955 Louis Innis was on Bass
Glenn Matuszewski - Thanks Glenn. You may well be right that it is Louis Innis on bass - as always, information from this era varies according to what source it comes from! I know Ernie Newton was employed by Hank Williams ( and many other great country artists in Nashville) as a session bass player on numerous occasions. In any event , a great little tune from Hank - one of my favourites.
I thought it was Jerry rivers .thank you for the history lesson.tommy Jackson 😀😀🎼🎼🎼🎼🎵🎵🎵🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻
