Williams, Andy - Christmas Present Lyrics

Christmas present, Christmas tree
Children's eyes are wide to see
Santa's presents 'neath the tree
All they asked for on his knee

Christmas present, Christmas past
From the presents which one's last
Christmas future sure to be
Looking underneath the tree

For the present, look high, not low
Christmas was a gift itself many years ago
Christmas presents at the start
Was a gift from someone's heart

Christ is Christmas, that day is His
That's what Christmas presents is

TheSorrowfulFlower---thanks again, as always, for this terrific post.  Our family makes sure we play this wonderful song every Christmas.

Andy Williams, memories flood back. Miss Andy Williams so much.

My beloved late step-dad is who introduced me to this song when I was in Jr. High school way back in the early 80's and so this song makes me miss him so much when I hear it. But I play it again and again at Christmas time and it makes me have that same magical Christmas time feeling from so long ago. Christmas became very special for me after my step-dad married my mother and he brought so much of the love of God and of a father figure into our household for me. So this song will always mean the memories of those wonderful years of Christmas way back when for me. My step-dad passed in early 1991 and I still miss him like it was yesterday that he passed. It is wonderful, yet so very much like I can never completely achieve that magical Christmas time feel like my step-dad always brought to our house all those years ago. I am thankful for the years that I did get to have with my step-dad and always pay tribute to him by playing this song many times as the weeks lead up to Christmas. I love you, Big-David, and will always remember what you added to my family and to each Christmas each year for the rest of my life.

Christmas Is Always Forever. Andy Williams Passed Away At 2013. But Still, He Sang Many Songs And Nice Songs.
I Like This Song. Thanks For The Video...

This song has special meaning for our family. My husband and I saw Andy Williams Christmas Concert live in 1988 just after Thanksgiving. He sang this song, and we fell in love with it. Then after so long, waiting to adopt a baby, we were blessed to have our son born that year on December 6th. He was our Christmas Present that year! This song will always have special memories and remind us all of the true meaning of Christmas!

Hard to believe that time of year again!  Thanks again for posting this great song.
It must be a sleeper---we were lucky to find an Andy Williams CD with this on it.
As I mentioned before it is an annual tradition to play this song among others on
our Christmas tree hunt.  Merry Christmas!

    M.... P....

It IS hard to believe it's that time of year already! I hadn't heard this one until last year. I love that it's a tradition to listen to this while tree hunting! Merry Christmas!

I'm so glad it was here for you! What a great tradition! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments :)

Great song, great lyrics, great message. I feel it exudes as strong a message as typical "church" Christmas songs. We have this song on a Christmas CD that we always play on our way to the moutains to find the perfect Christmas tree. Thanks for posting this---it is hard to find! I know it is June, but I just heard Moon River, and thought I would try to find this great song. Thanks again!

I couldn't agree more, Jim, a wonderful song, and a magnificent voice. I still can't believe he's gone, either, but I'm so grateful he left behind so much fabulous music. I'm delighted you enjoyed this one! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments! They (and YOU) always brighten my day :))

No mistaking that magnificent voice, Heather! Just a wonderful song of the season from Mr. Williams. It is still hard to imagine that he is gone. Thank you for this beautiful reminder of just how great his music is.
