It did make top ten on r7b as this was the third single .. most people think "How Will I Know " was the third signal when it was the 4th . The label did not do a Video and she never performed it was a radio hit in 85 and was and rb top 10song.

Yeah wasnt promoted as a "Dance / Pop" Genre..it was promoted as a R&B Genre..another words.. the song wasnt "White" enough to put into the Pop Stations...Great example: I drive cab one day for these 4 Causcasians look like in their upper 50s and were in the car listening to Whitney Houston first album I had on in the car..They singing along with all of her hits that were on the pop stations back then..but when it to this song they had no idea..lol..They asked me is this still Whitney Houston?..lol.. I told them this was her career third hit record..they were like Wow!! Really?!!... I never heard this one before...😄😄
