Ugh! I'm feeling nostalgic, so bear with me....this song hit around Jan / Feb. 1992 (from her Summer '91 'Ritual Of Love' CD), and I KNEW this was gonna be big(!) ...& then, Nothing. : (

Yes, it went Top 5 R&B (#5) / Top 20 Pop (#12), but, Shanice, CeCe Peniston, Jody Watley, Tracie Spencer, & Paula Abdul were hittin' the Pop charts HARD then, and I wanted this to make a dent, BAD....because....

I came out as Gay (to myself) Jan. of 1991, and felt that I can't 'act' on it, because that would 'solidify' it.... But, you can-NOT suppress THOSE FEELINGS, yet, I never dated, etc. THEN, I got Karyn's album (on cassette), and I went to Washington Square Park to listen to it on my walkman...When, I was approached by a gorgeous New Zealand Tourist who was 'asking for directions' (he REALLY was asking where he can score some weed, but I digress, ha-HAA!) He was Gay, also, so I had....my FIRST Gay Love.❤️

We dated exclusively Sept '91 - March of '92, and he went back home....I was GUTTED, but I knew we had a 'shelf life'. My First Love LOVED this song, so I made him a mixtape and opened with this song, because of the BAM! intro, and 'The Way I Feel..' will ALWAYS be near and DEAR to my Heart....bye, bye cloudy days, sunshine's here to stay, INDEED.... ; )
