Waylon Jennings - House Of The Rising Sun Lyrics
There is a house down in New Orleans
They call the Rising sun
It's been the ruin of many poor boys and me
Oh God, I'm one.
She sowed these old blue jeans
My father was a gambler
Lord, down in New Orleans.
Go tell my baby sister
Not to do the the things I've done
Outshine that house down in New Orleans
They call the Rising sun.
There is a house down in New Orleans
It's been the ruin of many poor boys and me
Oh God, I'm one...

Waylon is ( WAS, RIP ) one hard core dude. I love all of his songs. Ody Slim
Damn fine. That’s my favorite style for this song.
Delia's Gone
Wow, he absolutely owned this song, from the feeling, to the voice, what an inspiration. Glad to have found this gem. He was one of a kind.
what a great version you did my brother Waylon! Ody Slim
One of his best
I like this version a lot. Baby better than his live version from 76.
What album is this recording on?
I think it's a single
It was released as a single in 1965, and then released in 1970 on the album "Don't think twice"
Listen to his other version. Real House of The Rising Sun. It's amazing
best game of baseball I ever played with was with him and his band
Waylon sang this song and made it his own. Such talent. Waylon aged like fine wine.

Wow. Waylon always could sing everything well, and this is superb. I always loved the Animals version. And now I could not say which I like better. Different styles, but this is absolutely great. Can't compare.
Thank you Ginny!! I agree! :)
I agree with you... and the Midnight Rider and Never Could Toe the Mark are 2 of my favorite Waylon songs... I love the beat and the rythm... Waylons voice is perfect for these style songs! Thanks for stopping by my friend... :)
