Honestly, Wax is the best rapper of the 21st century.... by that, I mean he is the best of this generation of rappers. I exclude any rapper who made their breakout hits before 2000. While others may be enjoying more success, they lack Wax's versatility and verbal ability. It seems like most rappers today focus too much on that trap shit or they have a style that limits them to a certain sound. Wax is all over the place. He can be self deprecating or spit venom, slow or fast, compound syllables or more musical. Not to mention it's easier, for me anyway, to relate to Wax. He could have easily become a huge star and made sell out hits, but he honestly seems to care about being real... keeping his humanity and not losing touch with reality, like some stars do. They end up selling us an image of who they claim to be... but Wax is having fun and keeping it fresh.
Just my opinion. Maybe you like Kendrick Lamar or some shit.. that's fine.. but I'd rather hang out with Wax in a run down bar or at a BBQ than waste time with Lamar doing whatever it is he does with his spare time.
