Wariner, Steve - All Roads Lead To You Lyrics

Blacktop's burning, heat waves rise
Pick up my shove, l put my back to the grind
Got another job in Flagstaff and this one's paid

I work the freeway, the pays all right
But I can't get you off my mind
'Cause every stretch of highway ends the same

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget but it's now use
Your memory is there wherever I go, whatever I do
All road lead to you

The boss said one more mile to go
The last one always goes so slow
If I could just turn off my mind I'd be all right

But I keep wondering what went wrong
Whose holding you now that I'm gone
There's not a minute that goes by you don't cross my mind

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget but it's now use
Your memory is there wherever I go, whatever I do
All road lead to you

The sun's getting to me
I think I see you in every car that passes by
No way around it I'll always love you
Any fool can read the signs

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget but it's now use
Your memory is there wherever I go, whatever I do
All road lead to you

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget but it's now use
Your memory is there wherever I go whatever I do
All road lead to you

All roads lead to you
I thought I could forget but it's now use
Your memory is there wherever I go whatever I do
All road lead to you

  12. m.... t....

This song was heavily inspired by "Wichita Lineman". Blue-collar romantic longing. Those high notes at the end show off Steve's vocal range!

    Amazing artist!

  23. A.... G....

My favorite song for an entire decade. What a damn shame it was recorded before the advent of music videos. Wow, I feel old.

  24. M.... S....

Use to hear it on the radio at work. Love it.

  25. T.... ....

Smooth as butta' Love this man!

  26. G.... P....

Guess it's done TX here I come being by myself is better than being with someone who no longer loves me

  27. K.... J....

I love classic country music like this I listened to it growing up in the 80's My grandmother use to listen to country songs thank you for exposing me to this beautiful genre of country music. I miss you Grandma.

  28. G.... P....

Melinda this how I feel about you

  29. K.... F....

    yea, boy!!!!!

  30. L.... ....

    This is Pure Country!

  31. L.... ....

    Today Country Music SUCKS!

  32. D.... M....

Today's country is not country and it is not even good Rock, we need Steve to make a new CD.

  33. L.... ....

    I Hate Today's Country Music!
    This is Pure Country!

    L.... ....

any more, you can't even CALL it "country". It's pop with rural country lyrics and that's all there is to it.

  34. G.... ....

Love that song. One of my many Steve Wariner favorites.

  35. L.... F....

    Steve Wariner is hot.

  36. J.... K....

Boy! I could sing this song good! I can still hit that first falsetto. 2nd one not so much. LOL!

    J.... K....

John Kern me too my man

  37. L.... S....

I loved this man and every song I knew by heart and he hid behind a Bush one day when he seen me at our hairdressers shop. cause he knew I had the biggest crush on him. he knew he would get germed by me !! lmao

  38. S.... U....

This actually came out in 1981 this song was #7 on the 11/18/81 American Country Countdown 😜

    S.... U....

Went to Number 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles on Dec 19, 1981

  39. t.... ....

I would rank Steve Wariner up there with guys such as George Strait, Kenny Rogers, Ronnie Milsap, Eddie Rabbitt, Waylon Jennings and Vern Gosdin.

    t.... ....

Easily. He may have come across as not country enough back then. Hard to say why he didn't go bigger. It wasnt' talent, that's for sure.

    t.... ....

    Gary Morris too!...Ricky Skaggs.

    t.... ....

To me if you are ranking talent Steve Wariner is as good as anyone that has ever picked up a guitar or a pen to write a song...... He didn't write this one but he wrote some great songs....

    t.... ....

Me and you both my friend...

    t.... ....

And he has something that none of the stars you mentioned has-he is also a first rate guitar player. He is one of four guitarists to earn the title c.g.p. (certified guitar picker) bestowed by Chet Atkins.

  40. m.... ....

A #1 hit for Steve Wariner on the Country & Western charts. It was the 586th #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. We prepare to say goodbye to 1981 and welcome in 1982. What will the C&W scene be like in the new year? Stay tuned.

  41. M.... B....

    All roads lead to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    M.... B....

I thought I could forget, but it's no use........

  42. T.... E....

My Favorit Song Dame It This Song Rocks;)

  43. D.... F....

your memory is there wherever I go, whatever I do

    D.... F....

    All roads lead to you.........

    D.... F....

Reminds me of my wife Melinda she no longer loves me, but she'll always be in my heart

  44. A.... R....

If I could just turn off my mind I'd be alright. So true!!

  45. M.... H....

What a great voice this feller has. I could listen to him all day and never get tired of it. Steve Wariner was unjustly underrated back in the day. That's to bad to because he was and I'm sure still is such a great singer. It's to bad that Country music didn't keep going in this direction past the 80s. The old time singers were raising hell about how Country music was going in the wrong direction and by the time the mid 90s come along Country music turned into garbage. That's just my opinion of course but I still come here to listen to the best era of Country music. Rather then listen to the noise the radio puts out. Holy shit, I have turned into my father!!!

    M.... H....

Mike Hunt I hear u, I can't stand the shit they play now a days. I grew up listening to all the greats of country music and I do the same thing download old country and listen to my cds with all the classics and yes Steve Wariner was very under rated he is one of the best I've ever heard. I sand Small Town Girl for a talent show in high school and got noticed by alot of people. Just wish there was more music like this.

  46. B.... G....

Love it sounds like a England Dan and John Ford coley style

    B.... G....

@Ben Giarraputo  It's funny you should mention them. They had a couple of songs chart but the best they could ever do was a #2 with, Really love to see you Tonight. England Dan was brother to Jim Seals of Seals & Crofts. So after the split of England Dan and John Ford Coley in the late 70s. Dan Seals went on to a solo career in Country Music. Right at the same time I switched the radio station to Country instead of whatever that was on the pop stations at the time. Dan Seals went on to chart 11 number one singles over the next decade and a half. The same amount of time I listened to Country music. Unfortunately he had cancer though and it got the best of him. I really liked him!!!  Hope you didn't know this and I hope I didn't bore you to death either!!!

  47. M.... ....

Been looking for this one for a few years, couldn't remember the name or the artist, just the line about Flagstaff. Years ago someone made me a mixtape and this was on it. Thank you!!!

  94. c.... ....

man, they dont make music like they used to!i cant really listen to music now days.

  95. b.... ....

They did, although it was a few years ago...it may have gone out of production again.

Might check around some used guitar websites, or check Peavey's official website...they may still produce it.

  96. b.... ....

I know it's an old Peavey....thinking it's a P-60? It's an oddball guitar, they brought it back a few years ago....plays and sounds good, just "odd" looking in comparison to the Gibsons and Fenders that are so prevalent.

  97. R.... ....

Steve and Clint Black are my all time favorite singers! Both wonderful singers/musicians and totally great guys!
