I am reading the new book, 2018's, "Rock-And-Roll Woman" by Meredith Ochs. Wanda Jackson is featured so I thought I'd listen to her signature sound. I plan to do that with all the women featured in this book as many of them didn't get the credit they deserve.

I see a lot of comments about this not being the original and that is correct, it's not. This was a re-record done in Nashville sometime between mid 80's and late 80's. It was on vinyl and was a collection of her better material, I got the album but I can't remember name off hand. The debate goes on which of the two is best, I like this one better because her lyrics are much clearer on this. Tempo is slower on this and the guitar is more rhythm than lead as it was the original. Last but not least it is in stereo. The original was in Mono. Enjoy them both.

I think Elvis borrowed this song from her, rather than the other way around, Wish I was around during this time just to visit and hear the music live. There was a lot writer between elvis and the Beatles. 1960-64. Lot of good stuff in those years.
