Wall, Colter - Wild Dogs Lyrics
Once I was a wild dog
On the trail to a kill to feed my existence
That's where I first picked up the scent to her
Wanted her for my own after the kill
The stag was ours, together we brought it down
We were wild dogs
Wild dogs
Wild dogs
We'd roll amongst the sweet grass lickin' on each other
As the night replaced the day we'd bay and howl at the moon
We'd lay down and we'd listen to the silence of the stars
Shootin' 'cross the universe for us to see, her and me
Wild dogs
Wild dogs
We'd go runnin' through the forest with the grace of an eagle
With the freedom of the wind and the strength of our youth
Just like our old friend the Indian, we'd only kill to feed ourselves
Or to protect those we loved from danger
We were wild dogs
Wild dogs
We were wild dogs

Oh and btw this ain't country music its western music.
This is Graham Parsons song if I remember right.
Thank God people my age haven't forgotten real country.
This is so good.
He Sings my soul back to life, like he hears the whisper of sin within.
His words cut like a knife, and the tears come flyin’ in like lead again.
Much respect colter
I hope I write as well as you one day.

This city boy says "wow".

The album art is really reminiscent of the old Marty Robbins albums. This is pure lyrical concentrate in a world where Nashville wants to provide us watered down horseshit.
Wow, just wow! This is so good
This is masterpiece ...

First country singer that i like. His Voice is amazing.

Whatta voice! 😯👍Wow!!🙂
From the soul. What a tune
Thank you for people like this that sing songs like this
A Colter Wall soundtrack over a Wolverine film starring Zach McGowan.
I agree! I always thought Scott Eastwood would make a good younger Wolverine too.
Randi Everett The issue we have is height. Comics Wolverine is 5’3”. All the shorter actors are too small in frame to bulk up enough, which is a shame.
I love the sweet whine of the steel guitar. It really makes the song even cooler, especially the solo it gets at the end.
Interesting
Dang, it’s like hank jr and Johnny cash in one
Wild Dogs, haunting, eerie, beautiful !! So well written, I’m a bigger fan everyday !
Saw him a week ago in Milwaukee. Awesome. Thanks Colter!
I was at Turner Hall as well
Someone please use this in a RDR Arthur tribute
That whining steel guitar:]
Those lil slides add so much
I like this song,,,,,,
me too much does not have a good chance TO see it and I have to sleep with the goat and the only thing I can do is a little bit of a little bit of a
Perfect! Though I prefer his voice not as deep.
Yeah, wow
"ONCE..."
man that hit me the first time I heard this song-- It caught my full attention. This might be my favorite song of his now
nothing bad about this song damn
Would have been a perfect Red Dead Redemption 2 song
Would have been perfect towards the end if Arthur went down the outlaw route being a wolf and all...
Fitting ain't it partner?
Heck, most of Colter Wall's stuff would have been great in Red Dead Redemption 2
I had his album playing on the background through most of that game
Mike Dudley I prefer rockstar creating there own music. the first red dead soundtrack was all inspired by real songs, many Johnny Cash. Sounds alright but when you can create songs just for certain scenes, they fit better.
What a creepy lucid pedal steel role. I believe I had my soul rifled with such a tune. I must have more...
What an eerie romantic toon!! That old steel peddle guitar really cuts through like an old Hank Williams song. Such an all around great writer an artist! Great work
Colter Wall does it right. Love his music so much!!! Nothing like being in the mountains listening to his music.
This is music! Touches the heart & soul. Thank You Mr. Wall
Thank God we have artists like Colter to keep country alive. Great job brother.
