I personally would have no problem paying the student athletes. The problem is once you pay the kids they are no longer student athletes they are more like employees of the college instituiton. The players would more or less be playing in a minor league type system. Even after the institution starts paying kids to come play for them, the institution could still recruit kids to play at their school without paying them because there will always be kids desparate to play after high school.
