This man was and is a genius in his own right... Genuine power-emo... so simple, so beautiful.

I love how the first two chords and the last two are reversed. I know music but not well enough to say what it is, but whatever two chords he is playing in the beginning, he plays the same two but the second one first at the end. I always found that so simple but cool. Anybody know what chords they are? I dont know 🤷‍♂️

Songs like these are comforting to the lonely.. Tom creates the mood and delivers the message.

There's something about the chord progression and piano voicing in this song... It's on constant repeat in my head. Such a wonderful sense of ambivalent melancholy.

Oh man, I'm so glad you wrote this. The other day I tried LSD for the first time, with some people I haven't met before. Bad idea. Someone put on this album and when this song came up, it reminded me of my conflicts with my girfriend. And I just started bawling, while everyone was having fun.

You had a How Soon Is Now experience huh.

It's the casual nature of his performance; it's not as if this song has any special weight as far as Tom is concerned. It's only us, his audience, who get hung up on it.
