Did anyone else notice the background voices singing "we will never" and "in the end" during the "we will be as one God / we will be as one people" or is that just me? It's hopeful and longing, but also eerie and haunting. Towards the end it's only "we will never." So it ends on a sad note? Whatever, absolutely beautiful song.

Yep, I'm hearing "..and we will never" repeated pretty clearly at the end in the background; still listening for "in the end" and whatever else they're saying. It sounds like 3 repeats of "we will never" followed by "and will we ever?"

I'm reading Brave New World right now. Some of the exact lines in this song are in the book, on the whole they are creepily similar. This sounds very beautiful, but the ideas in this song, taken to their extreme in Brave New World, turn into something very ugly.

Anna, it's not a question of taking the ideas to their extreme. It's a question of whether the ideas are truly realized in consciousness of people, or as in Brave New World, become a mere fluffy propaganda to cover over a collectivist, authoritarian society bent on avoiding reality.
