Vaughan, Stevie Ray - Shake For Me Lyrics

Well that sure look good darlin'
Drummin' our thang to me
Yes that sure look good darlin'
Drummin' our thang to me
I've got a cool shakin' baby
Shake like a wildwood tree

You went away baby
You got back a little too late
You went away baby
You got back a little too late
I've got a cool shakin' baby
Shake like jello on a plate

When my baby walks
You know she's fightin' below
Yeah when my baby walks
You know she's fightin' below
Yes and when she stops
(the) Place, it shakes like jello

Well now shake little baby
Shake it for me
Yeah now shake little baby
Shake it for me
Yeah now shake a little baby
Shake like a wildwood tree

Now let it shake
Now let it shake
Now let it shake
Now let it shake
Let it shake a little baby
Shake like a wildwood tree

  12. k.... ....

The Goddamn shuffle king just kicking ass on the clean channel

  13. R.... N....

    El Macho...!!!

  14. K.... D....

When are they going to make a movie about this Great Musician?

    K.... D....

We have 2 wait in line. First motley cruel but they have 2die first. Then vanilla ice. Then you'll have Dallasblues folk. And in a perfect world for the finale a major motion picture of Elvis presley. Wait..... he has 2die first

    K.... D....

I still cannot believe they haven't made a movie about this legend omg

    K.... D....

I genuinely hope they don't take his story and turn it into a joyless box office cash grab.

    K.... D....

@Uranium 235 Matthew scott, search him haha

  15. D.... R....

SRV would tear up his fingertips, then super glue them back on to finish his show...

    D.... R....

R W Still, you'd be hard pressed to find a guy who played as furiously as Stevie. While other might have glued back on their calluses, that's still a very small amount of people.

    D.... R....

and he was playing on a ever so slightly slacked-down set of 13s...

    D.... R....

I run his setup on my G&L.... it'll hurt ya at first.

    D.... R....

Lol, that is not what it means by supergluing your fingertips. I think some people may put a layer of superglue onto their fingers so it acts like a callous when it dries up. I highly doubt that people would actually superglue cut fingertips together or use it to reattach hanging bits of calloused, old skin.

    D.... R....

A shot of freeze spray and some liquid bandage will make a cut fingertip hard as a rock, and you won't feel a thing.

  16. D.... R....

My friend forever, I miss you....

  17. L.... S....

When my baby walk you know shes fine and mellow..SRV

  18. R.... A....

This is from the live album 'In the Beginning' released 2 years after SRVs death.

West Winds, fo sho sho nuf! 👅💙🎸

    W.... W....

  20. G.... B....

The first part of the guitar solo is a note for note copy of Hubert Sumlin's original.

    G.... B....

    Kewl.

PS: Love Paul Butterfield. Another big loss.

    G.... B....

    That's intentional.

  38. F.... K....

SRV...Just STICKS THIS SONG!!!..I miss this cat..seriously.....Listen to the riffs and movements by Chris Laton on drums....the timing is just PERFECT!!!

  39. x.... ....

this is THE SHIT!!!!!!! no tricks or backing.straight raw perfect music. I LOVE SRV

  40. S.... ....

Sorry..... I meant to say (if I could type) he preferred a natural........ (below).

  41. S.... ....

@QuiltedPine Most of SRV/DT tunes on his studio albums were played once and recorded. He a natural sound rather than an over-produced feel to his recorded music. If you listen to a lot of SRV CDs, you will find that much of the material on them is actually concert footage. An exceptional early album containing this song was recorded at a radio station concert in '80, and is titled "In the Beginning." The first time I heard this particular tune was on that amazing album.

  42. B.... S....

@tomas1261 Good point, the band plays too straight. It sounds almost like punk music like this. It doesn't bounce like the Howlin' Wolf record.

  43. m.... ....

    PLEASE READ!

It's not a good idea to go to Biebers video & click the dislike button cause every time we go to his video he gets payed a few cents cause his vid's sponsered. Instead we pick songs like this & get as many people as we can to watch so by the 9th of July all rock videos will be most viewed on youtube charts. This will get the younger audience to listen to good music & might have good rock bands form again.PLEASE SPREAD THIS MESSAGE! THUMBS UP!

  44. T.... R....

@flooringalabama thinking more about this....Hubert's tone is so earthy and filled with rhythmic drive. He never played with a pick, using his thumb and fingers just like Curtis Mayfield. This is the same technique that many guitarists in Mail, West Africa use which is perhaps derived from the instrument called ngoni. you are right that nobody comes close to Hubert in terms of tone. Albert King used a similar technique and also got a killer sound. But Hubert's solo on "Louise" is unmatched.

  45. T.... R....

@flooringalabama yes you are totally correct in that.

  46. T.... R....

amazing SRV - but his rhythm section doesn't swing like Howlin Wolf's band.

  47. Q.... P....

Is it just me or, did Stevie Ray not play like this so much on his studio albums? He's burning up the fretboard on this album!

  48. Q.... P....

    @timj41
I know. this is actually THE FIRST SRV song I EVER heard. They were airing this live album on the radio one night, when I knew absolutely nothing about him and I was blown away. I mean I was in heaven listening to this. After that the played some Led Zeppelin and more "Classic Rock" that I really got into, but even though I love classic rock, there is nothing like Stevie's Blues. Especially Early Stevie Ray Vaughan.

  49. S.... D....

It goes from GOD to Hendrix to Stevie!

  50. t.... ....

and this was before he was even getting noticed!!

  51. C.... K....

Holy shit he sounds so damn sexy in this. Man what a voice what style christ I'd shake for him ha ha!

  52. r.... ....

@DUCKBMET dude same here! haha except we don't have a lot of cows in Rhode Island.

  53. D.... ....

I've almost driven my car off the road rockin' my ass off to this one. Probably scared every cow in Vermont.

  54. S.... ....

You're deep in my heart Stevie!!! One of my fave tunes!

  55. W.... W....

This is so hot... but then again, it IS Stevie!
    :D

  56. C.... R....

    @cecalien thank you.

  57. c.... ....

    @elconijo intelligence*

  58. T.... ....

    @srvaughan121 Oh Yeah !!

  59. s.... ....

@TheInvincibleViolet yep. that beat is just relentless and srv's guit-fiddle seems to only drive the pace harder and faster. it's like he's daring the beat to keep up with him.

  60. T.... ....

I love the driving beat of this song. Stevie was the best.. Gone too soon...........

  61. S.... ....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!!! I also agree with vibra64 - stevie was the best. Hendrix was awesome and original, but Stevie made him sound almost primitive. Stevie wouldn't like me saying that, but it's TRUE! STEVIE = KING TONE!!!!!

  62. v.... ....

It is Intelligence, not intelegance. Stupid.

  63. C.... R....

first off, anyone who tries to label any guitarist as the best ever is clearly musically ignorant. like yourself. and second, dont try and make fun of my intelegance. your only making yourself look stupid.

  64. F.... ....

I like how he keeps the song the same, but adds amazing guitar licks in between.

Good stuff! Sounds a lot like the original.

  65. v.... ....

2nd best? There is SRV. Then there is every other guitarist. PERIOD

  66. s.... ....

the rhythm is similar to the ren and stimpy show's opening song

  67. f.... t....

    face at 2:18 lol

  68. C.... L....

check out Howlin Wolf doing this song, in 1964, written by Willie Dixon

  69. S.... ....

Shake for me please !! HAHAHAHAHA - Great song! - thanks for posting

  70. 4.... ....

One of the top favorites with my biggest idol. I know it is a cover but it´s so GREAT!!R.I.P Stevie!!
