Gino best song and most beautiful song ever written by anybody in my opinion

Killer track.

First brought this album in 1977 when it came out changed my musical world.

Mister vannelli is an icone of modern music.timeless like stevie.

It makes me kind of sad that only Gino's more commercial hits get any attention these days. They're good songs, and I'm glad they get the recognition they deserve. But these unsung gems are masterpieces.

As a 20 year boy in college, a girlfriend introduced me to Gino's music.... I was in love with his voice and songs.... I knew I was gay at that moment for sure because I just..........I just fantasized about being with him. Stupid fantasy, but man, I loved him then and I love him now... Those memories of his songs and how he carried me through life live with me forever.. Thank you, Gino.

When I listened to "The Gist of the Gemini" in the summer of 76 I was blown away...
I was listening to someone ahead of his time. A master at work !

That was the album I fell for too. I had NO idea what I was even listening too but it was unlike anything else I'd ever heard. An astral trip on vinyl.

This song takes me back to my young adulthood to when I thought I would never be old...Well I got old and this song transcends the many years, it takes me all the way back...and that is a good thing.

always loved Gino and we are the same age so when I listen to these songs I try to remember my life back then and just how unique a talent he is.

Just daydream about that special someone...and it'll all come back to you! :) It did for me.

Oh, yes... so very beautiful! This is from my era... 1970s, in 11th Grade and summertime laying in my bedroom listening to this!  A great singer that I don't know but somehow eras and decades seem to have forgotten! :)

Great Vocalist that doesn't get enough recognition.

Could be because the mindless masses only remember Black Cars or Wild Horses. If they would have checked out his 70's work they would be singing a different tune. 1973-1978 was his best period.

Plus his brothers Joe and Ross that made huge contributions to Gino's career that have not been recognized or appreciated, either. Unfortunate.

I agree....although I think Gino himself has always recognized and appreciated his brothers' contributions. At least, that is my impression from things I've heard him say in several interviews. One I found particularly touching was his first appearance on "Soul Train." He said first that he wrote his own material but collaborated with Joe on arrangements, etc. Then when he introduced the band, he said, "And my flesh and blood, my brother Joe." And then, of course, there are the lyrics to "People I Belong To."
