My parents are now gone. This is a good tune. It fits. One last chance.

I was 10 when I memorized every song in this album. This shaped my "comfort music".. Somber instrumental. I miss those days when the lryics didn't make sense to me yet, back then i only knew i like the melody & her voice and it comforted me in a sense that i was so familiar with it already. Almost 20 years later, her songs still comfort me. But its sad how I can now relate with the somber lyrics. 💔

No man, you are not! I got hip to other genres than our own, a long time ago(High school in the 90's, I am early 30's now). It started out with Linkin Park and Limbizit to Blink 182, Coldplay, Deathcab for cutie and so on....I appreciate the depth Vanessa has in her music; great lyrics that speak something and make you want to hear every word to the message or story or experience she is interpreting.

There is mention she wrote about stopping dancing, but I wonder if any of this song is related to being trapped in the life of a heterosexual since she has recently come out?  I LOVE VANESSA.  Her music could be a bit more powerful, but very emotional.  Wish she was still making hits.

I feel like Vanessa Carlton and Lana Del Rey have similar style.

I thought that too at some point , but Vanessa goes more into depth with her music. Vanessa's music carries you deeply into your thoughts while Lana Del Rey's music is more light yet emotional.
