An unacknowledged masterpiece by Van. And the interplay among the musicians is no small part of it. If I had to pick one song to live in, this would be it.

One of my favourite Van tunes on one of my favourite albums. Panned at the time of release and unavailable for years. Thanks to eBay I got myself a copy of the original first CD issue to put along side my original Polydor copies of Veedon Fleece and Common One, the two other Van Desert Isle discs from his prodigious back catalogue that I simply cannot live without.

This is the amazing Van Morrison singing,as he always does, great jazz...!! Yes folks you are listening to jazz whether you like it or not. Van is one of our greatest jazz and blues singers of all times....!! Of course Ray Charles is in another category all his own...!!

My traditional song for the season. Gives me such a delicious feeling. I want to go out for a walk then come inside and drink cocoa. And sing an autumn song.

Been a an Van fan for many years and I still get the joy of experiencing songs I have yet to hear, this is one I have never heard before. Such beauty and soul, great composition of music, just little layers of background instruments just at the right moment.

This is such a warm,mellow, wonderful song! To balance your mind..love it!

Thanks...haven't heard this song in many years. Remember like it was yesterday! It always invokes some great visuals and memories. One of Van's best ever.

This album was out when I attended Penn State at State College. The Hills surrounding the campus flame into color about the first or second week of October and all I could ever think about was that Halloween was in a week or two and I was about to "break out." Evocative, haunting, magnficent.

Lovely song by Van Morrison. Always loved those chromatic motifs at 0:19 - 0:24 and again at 0:34 - 0:40 that he repeats. Its probably the best song on Hard Nose The Highway (1973) and I think it has to be some of Van Morrison's best singing in those first five and half minutes. Thanks for choosing this song to upload with the video.
