Was listening last year, this year, years previous, and into the future. Timeless.

For those who don't understand the video:

A lot of the lyrics from this were made from Spencer's overcoming his drug addiction and reinforce his relationship with God (since from what I know, there are/were all all christians).
here is my interpretation of the video.

The boy represents Spencer's current appearance and that old man at the end of the video represents God that sends him an angel. The band represents the soul of Spencer, the pure, the good, the great out of Spencer. And that part of him (the band) is locked inside a box cause of all the drugs Spencer had been having at the time. The angel removes the box out of Spencer mouth, forcing Spencer to follow it to wherever it goes. The translation to it in real life would be that everytime there's no more drug in your system, your addiction to it forces you to follow anything/anyone that can give you some more. No matter what it takes to get it (Hence the name of the song "Desperate Times, Desperate measures") . At the end of the video, He then gets to a point where following the angel that took the drug he's looking for leads him to God. He then gives him the box, which to him contains something he needs (the drug). But God lead him here and put him in this situation to set his soul (the band screaming inside) free.

The whole band performing the song, as well as the lyrics go about the desperation that the real Spencer locked inside the box need to be set free for the evil him to be locked inside the box.
"When this thing breaks, I will be you, You'll be me"
You can also see that towards the end of the song when Spencer is desperately screaming "I will never break through (I refuse to give up on you). Let me out let me out" and It ends right when the boy opens the box.

Another interpretation of the video could be that it's the other way round. The band represents the evil side that comes with taking drugs and that old man at the end of the video represents the Devil that tricked him into opening the box.

But the reason I'd likely go with the first interpretation would be cause, right at the end of the video, the boy opens his eyes on the bed and you realize that all this video was actually a dream. Which means that God sent him a vision through his sleep telling him the only person that can set him free from his demons is himself and nobody else. Also the following song on the album is too bright to see, too loud to hear. Which is pretty much about Spencer waking up from all the nonsense he's been doing from his drug addiction, and asking forgiveness for all the wrongs he'd done and also asking the lord to help him find his way back home. Home being the lord's kingdom (could be our world, could be heaven).

Hope that will make the video more understandable now :D

This music video reminds me of the style Tool's music videos had, just my personal opinion.

That's exactly what I thought after just seeing the first 20 seconds of the video.

This song was my introduction to Underoath and Metalcore, its still as good now as it was back then. These guys are amazing and i'm so glad i got to see them play last month, hands down the best show I have ever been to. I really hope they get in the studio again.
