Anna Chait It isn't my desire to be argumentative, but, yes, Bono is a deceiver and false Christian as we we're warned of in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, Acts 20:28-30, Matthew 7:15-20, 1 Timothy 4:1, 2 Peter 2 and other verses. There are numerous examples of his lyrics being heretical. I won't list them all, but "Wake Up Dead Man" is full of blasphemy.
This isn't just an opinion of mine. Articles have been written with plenty of examples.

I grew up on U2 and loved their early work, so it's not as though I just want to tear them down because I'm not a fan.

Jarod76 you have no idea what "Wake Up Dead Man" is about. I can tell you have no interest in finding out what the band has to say so you can criticize them instead. The writer of that article and those who share his view aren't much different than Bono. I also find it typical how the writer draws the line at gay marriage. "All sins are 'equal'**************************************". Bono has always had a critical look on religion because he grew up in a climate divided by religious stuff and people died from it. To be honest, I think they're more honest than mainstream Christian music. It's not challenging nor deep.

That is one of my favourite chapters in Psalms. God blessed me through that one. I had not known that this song was from the Bible until 2012 when I actually started to read it a lot. God bless you all. Amen.
