    As I walk along
    I wonder what went wrong
With our love, a love that was so strong
And as I still walk on
I think of the things we've done together
    Awhile our hearts were young
    I'm a-walkin' in the rain
Tears are fallin' and I feel the pain
Wishin' you were here by me
    To end this misery
    And I wonder
    I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder
    Why
Why, why, why, why, why she ran away
    And I wonder
    Where she will stay
    My little runaway
    Run, run, run, run, runaway
    I'm a-walkin' in the rain
Tears are fallin' and I feel the pain
Wishin' you were here by me
    To end this misery
    And I wonder
    I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder
    Why
Why, why, why, why, why she ran away
    And I wonder
    Where she will stay
    My little runaway
    Run, run, run, run, runaway
    Run, run, run, run, runaway
    Run, run, run, run, runaway
    Run, run, run, run, runaway

  12. W.... b....

    What memories
Del Shannon, Bobby Vee, Jonny Tillison, Everly bros, and so many more.
We were so lucky, when I listen to the crap described as "music" today, I feel fortunate to have been born in the 40's , danced in the 60's, and can remember the good times

  13. T.... T....

    Велики .Велики .Велики !!!!

  14. M.... ....

Got into a pub discussion recently and we were talking about so called ‘Supergroups’. Amazing that we had been through most of them when someone mentioned Wilburys. how could we have missed out Dylan, Petty, a Beatle, Orbison and someone from ELO and the Move. This has got to be the ultimate supergroup: what an array of talent

  15. R.... R....

How can people not enjoy this gem? First heard this on my Traveling Wilburys bootleg. Del was an unofficial member an i still recall the sad night when i heard he died.

  16. D.... V....

Bellísima. Hace 35 años, más o menos, que no la escuchaba.

  17. j.... ....

    Jeff fu€£ing Lynne.

  18. D.... W....

First heard it on the American graffiti Soundtrack.Has remained one of my favorites and when I’m not listening to the Beatles , I go pre-Lads.Traveling Wilburys sounds like a name that Paul and John would have come up with about The Beatles just for kicks. George had always been a Wilbury. Almighty God please handle them with care

  19. M.... F....

    FUCK YOU GOOGLE.

  20. L.... M....

It was a beautiful day, the sun beat down
I had the radio on, I was drivin'
Trees went by, me and Del were singin' little Runaway
I was flyin' - Tom Petty

  21. M.... C....

    Me encanta esta version!

    💎🎶

  25. K.... L....

I love that they were so respectful to the original.

  26. T.... O....

Excellent rendition! Rock & roll was a little candyland in the early 1960's but this song stood out. The guys did a great job.

  27. P.... F....

only legends need apply.... get some decent fucking songs and we shall see...

  28. T.... H....

    wonderful video my friend

  29. T.... B....

Del was slated to join the Wilburys when he died.Tragic tribute

  30. c.... ....

  31. O.... O....

Oye , pero hablando en serio.....gracias por aparecer en mi vida...

  32. N.... C....

This was a good song. A woman can sing it, too, you know - in reverse 🙂.

  33. D.... B....

The original still better but,I get it. I get it.

  34. E.... B....

What is sad is that three of these guys are gone.

  35. F.... D....

Let’s hear it for Jim Keltner👏🏻

  36. D.... H....

Jeff Lynne does del Shannon great, ELO does little town flirt on discovery album

  37. b.... b....

    They are lost treasures...

  38. b.... s....

Del and his Epiphone Coronet guitar - one of the best rock songs ever

  39. j.... o....

Always was a brilliant track. This is such a great cover by them. Roy’s part is just superb, and being a Beatle lover it’s always nice to see George in any video. Sounding fantastic too. But I’m a fan of them all. A good portion of music brilliance has been penned by those in that room. Not sure we’ll ever see a collaboration like that again.

Can’t stop singing Roy’s bit now !!! That’ll be in my head for about a week.

  40. H.... O....

Del was from Grand Rapids Michigan, I think.

  41. R.... R....

they did this for me :>

  42. D.... C....

"DEL SHANNON LIVES!" "1987," at "THE HOP" in Fountain Valley California.

  43. C.... M....

This is wonderful remake of Del Shannon Runaway.

  44. T.... S....

We've lost way too many fantastic artist's way too soon. Such a shame.

  45. D.... B....

Put simply music at its best tom roy George and others rocking in heaven what a show to see rest in peace

  46. N.... n....

    איזה חמוד

  47. a.... ....

Del Shannon was the first American artist to record a Beatles song: "From Me to You" — he knew a standard when he heard it!

  48. m.... r....

Hey! Thanks for posting! YOU just rocked my night! I love the Traveling Wilburys, I enjoyed the Beatles, and really loved Del Shannon's Runaway! I was born in 1962! So it was MY PARENTS--who introduced me to this gooooodddd music. My mother is THE one who turned me onto the Traveling Wilburys. This IS the last musical group--and common musical interest we shared together before she passed away in 2018! She was born in 1942. She grew up with the advent of Rock N' Roll and Elvis Presley! So when Disco came out during MY high School years--SHE was with it--and we enjoyed the new musical sounds together! Thanks for posting this--I have great memories of me and my mom--and my dad too, listening to great music like this!! My parents were married for 56 years plus before my mom died. I will 57 in December. My mom had me, 2 days before her 20th birthday on 12/24/62. I miss her so much. This IS for my Mother!

Dad and I spend one day a week working on music and playing music, and this is how we honor mom. Love you Mom!

    m.... r....

Thank you for your wonderful comments and sharing your memories ❤

  49. J.... G....

At the time I thought the Wilburys were pretty kool...now that we've lost Roy, George & Tom I realize they were a treasure....

    J.... G....

Miss those guys... glad we still have Jeff with new material.

    J.... G....

Agreed! I don't know what I was paying attention to at the time they were performing, but I missed out at that time. Now I have found them on YouTube and realized what I missed, it breaks my heart that so many of them are gone too soon. The Traveling Wilburys were a treasure trove of talent.

    J.... G....

    I feel you

    J.... G....

    Thank God for u tube!

  50. J.... N....

  56. C.... B....

When artists cared about collaboration and making great music Not like nowadays when “artists “ just want money and exposure

  57. M.... H....

Tribute to Del Shannon from the Traveling Willburys. Kudos

  58. T.... P....

Title song for Michael Mann's "Crime Story" starring the late Dennis Farina. I think It came on Friday nights. It was a good show and the beautiful slickness of Michael Mann.

    T.... P....

Remember it well. Denis played Mike Torello. Darlanne Fluegel played his wife.

  59. l.... o....

sounds slightly sharp on the scale

What a Great tribute to Del Shannon, I love that song!!!! Always did and always will... Done so perfectly by The Traveling Wilburys was Fantastic!!!!!! The Video had lots of memories of Americana pictures and videos I loved it!!!! My uncle crashed and passed away in a drag race he was so young... Rest In Peace Uncle Tony... My Moms fist car was a rumble seat also 😊Great video footage!!!!!!

    E.... W....

What a lovely comment thank you so much! Though sorry for your loss ❤

    E.... W....

    @THEMCCARTNEYCHANNEL you are so welcome.

  65. J.... E....

    The Traveling Wilburys= Dream Team.

  66. g.... g....

706 idiots stumbled upon this video

  67. N.... ....

This cover immediately made me think of Howie Epstein whom Tom Petty "took" from Del Shannon's road band (per TP documentary) to join the Heartbreakers.Sadly all three great musicians are gone now but certainly not forgotten. Del was not happy with Tom at the time but I got the impression they moved past it and remained friends.

  68. J.... G....

Just wish we could have seen them recording this. So well done.

  69. P.... H....

I think most of these BRILLIANT ARTISTS have passed on, even DEL, What a loss, R.I.P. ALL.

  70. M.... ....

Traveling Wilburys, the definition of a supergroup!

  71. C.... P....

where can I get the Rarities Disc set?????????

  72. l.... m....

be better if they were actually were playing the song in this vidio

    l.... m....

That would be something special 👍

    l.... m....

Agreed. It's a well-done video, but I'd love to see them performing it in real time. I've always had the idea that TW tracks were close to "live", i.e. the men and their instruments without much overdubbing and tracking, but I don't really know.

  73. D.... V....

    Jeffrey Epstein's theme song.

    D.... V....

    🙄🤣🤣🤣

  74. W.... C....

I used to like this song, now may not. All these fine musicians are gone. Getting old is a cruel reality

    W.... C....

I didn't mean to sound so negative, im at a bar. Fighting with my beautiful girl. So for a moment I'm cross treaded. Over.

  75. r.... f....

    Jeff on the keyboards.

  76. B.... 1....

    https://youtu.be/3xNc1tx1mWA

  77. L.... M....

Keltner was great but, why didn't they have a big famous supergroup type drummer? Like Don Henley.

    L.... M....

Loren Mars : You don’t get better than Jim Keltner !!!!!! Henley played for one group where as Jim played for many.

  78. b.... p....

God, I love this song. I was allowed to sing it in a band back in the day even tho I couldn't quite hit those high notes. Oddly, I can do it with ease now.....

  79. v.... B....

George's voice stands out even if he's in the vocals.

    v.... B....

lol..How could his voice have stood out if he hadn,t have been in the vocals?

  80. T.... M....

They should have got Del in the band

  81. W.... ....

I can no other answer make, but, thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks… – William Shakespeare

  82. R.... R....

It is quite strange when you realize that most of the people on this are no longer with us. Love this song and group.

  83. T.... L....

This song sounds like it was written by the Beach Boys.

  84. M.... L....

Del Shannon has been a huge inspiration for Jeff Lynne who is singing this cover...From 1972 to 1986 Jeff Lynne's Electric Light Orchestra has had more top 40 hits than any other groups in the world. 50 years later they still play in sold-out Arenas and Stadiums. I just saw them this Summer of 2019 on the US and Canada Tour...( Best Concert of my life) All the reviews agree they are the best live act in the world and Jeff Lynne is a Music Genius. They are in the Rock Hall of Fame. Lynne is on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame and Birmingham Walk OF Fame. Jeff Lynne’s ELO won the Best Classic Rock Band plus Lynne won the best Song Writer award ( ASCAP ) 2019 for his fantastic contribution over the years. The Legends in the Music Industry call Jeff Lynne the best overall Musician ever and a Producer Extraordinaire. Long live Jeff Lynne’s ELO! Please Tour in 2020!

  85. A.... A....

Cool version. They seemed to be having fun.

  86. P.... ....

The drummer in this Supergroup is the best drummer I've ever seen....next to Gene Krupa!

    P.... ....

    Jim Keltner ¡¡¡¡

  87. L.... D....

I remember hearing at the time
, when. Del Shannon died, that he was a possible replacement for Roy Orbison

  88. B.... 1....

Anyone also like the live 1969 Elvis Presley version of this song?

    B.... 1....

I did not now he did one. I would like to hear it.

    B.... 1....

    B.... 1....

@Belvedere 1958 Thank you. I did not know this even existed.
    It is pretty good.

  89. T.... T....

Love the Farfisa organ sounding like the original!

  90. M.... ....

    high quality band

  91. j.... ....

WHY WHEN A SONG WRITTEN BY ANOTHER IS SUNG BY A MAIN GROUP LIKE THE WILBURYS THEY DON'T DARE CALL IT A "COVER" BUT WHEN EVERYDAY PEOPLE (NON-STARS) SING A SONG WRITTEN BY ANOTHER THEY SEEM OBLIGED OR REQUIRED TO LABEL IT A "COVER". THIS IS WHY THE WHOLE TERM "COVER" IS CRAP! AND INCONSISTENT, AS WELL AS DEMEANING AND INACCURATE. NO SYMPHONY CONDUCTOR OR STRING QUARTET SAYS THEY'RE GOING TO DO A "COVER" OF BACH OR BRAHMS. THE TERM CANNOT BE USED CONSISTENTLY ACROSS THE MUSIC GENRE AND THAT'S WHY IT'S INFINITELY WRONG. I NEVER USE THE TERM AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS LIKEWISE. THE REAL SOURCE OF THE WORD AND HOW IT WAS TWISTED INTO CURRENT USE BY THE COMMERCIAL MUSIC INDUSTRY IS WRITTEN IN A SMALL COMMENT/ESSAY BY DON MCLEAN. (IF ITS STILL OUT THERE)
