Traffic Holy Ground Comments
  1. J.... H....

I always thought this was about the struggle the Irish had between them, perhaps not. I am not an environmentalist. I just believe that as a human being we continue to go forward until when ???

  2. a.... c....

UNA DE MIS BANDAS FAVORITAS ! QUÉ CLASE !!

  3. R.... D....

At 52 I never heard any other song that makes me FEEL what it says so clearly, ever. It's like a musical Da Vinci. There are no words to describe it. Those majestic bagpipes.... It's beauty made music.

  4. S.... M....

I can’t stop being amazed at how unknown to so many Steve Winwood is. He is so extraordinarily, multi talented, going back to Spencer Davis at age 14-15, Traffic, Blind Faith, solo, with Clapton, Petty others. About the best white soul singer ever

  5. S.... M....

Great song led by perhaps our greatest 1960s on musical talent.

  6. J.... C....

This song has as much or more meaning today. What are we doing to God's green earth?

  7. C.... C....

Did not know Steve used the pipes. Mark Knopfler was using them on Golden Heart. Hits hard. So sad, so Irish.

  8. J.... C....

new to me but amazing work ..Thanks .

  9. J.... A....

    ¡! :)

  10. M.... H....

    nagyon király zenekar volt.

  11. S.... ....

Well, this song says it all. One of the best i heard. Beautiful!

  12. d.... ....

"Holy Ground" is a powerful tune !

  13. N.... D....

Beautiful song by one of the best and most underrated bands in rock history

  14. D.... C....

    Speechless, beseaching spirit!

  15. b.... ....

I can't understand why this song hasn't had a billion views.

  16. S.... G....

Steve Windwood plays every instrument on this CD with the exception of drums by Jim Capaldi.

    S.... G....

Steve Winwood is an amazing musician, but I don't think he plays the Irish bagpipes. Don't the credits mention Mike Dolan on guitar and Davy Spillane on bagpipes?

    S.... G....

    Yes Corey, :)
Steve Winwood – organs, piano, synthesizers, lead vocals (all tracks), backing vocals ), lead guitar, basses, programming, flute, saxophone , congas , timbales ,
Jim Capaldi – drums, backing vocals , percussion, art direction
    Additional personnel
    Davy Spillane - Uilleann pipes
Mick Dolan - rhythm guitar ), AKAI S1000 programming, engineering and mixing
Karim Benzezour - assistant mixing engineer
Tim Young - mastering (at Metropolis, London)

    S.... G....

Davey Spillane plays the pipes, Irish Uilleann pipes. They are a well matched pair of gods. Just the pair to take to a desert Island.

  17. p.... ....

    Powerful song. Bad visuals.

    p.... ....

    oh yes.....
why on earth someone at all wants to play a slide show during a song. even the idea is really dumb...
(better take out the garbage , wacuum the carpet or do something useful!)

  18. w.... ....

looks like someone besides me loves the paintings of frederic church

    w.... ....

Gabriele Voak I can not agree with you more Long Live Steve Winwood  Awesome Music  Great Singer!!!!!

  23. G.... 9....

This song goes beyond words.  There are no words to say how beautiful it is.  Thank God Steve Winwood is still around with his musical talent.  Unfortunately Chris Wood and Jim Capaldi are not and this makes us sad.  Still, their music lives on

  24. s.... ....

    Old and gold!

    s.... ....

Yes, the intro sounds  like Bulgarian folk music!

    s.... ....

@saggitabg They are Uillean Pipes - a type of Irish bagpipe played in a different way than the Scottish bagpipes...The Chieftains are an Irish folk band that had Uillean Pipes on many of their songs and you can also hear them played very well on Ommadawn ( if my memory serves ) by Mike Oldfield.

    s.... ....

Thank you, I also like The Chieftains!

    s.... ....

it's not very old for Traffic

    s.... ....

I love the Irish pipes, someone said close instrument to Scottish Bag Pipes. Great addition to his musical virtuosity, he plays organ and guitar genius level, and whatever else he needs.

  25. V.... W....

A top favorite, if not THE favorite Traffic song of yours truly from the past.  Call it a musical offering to Throwback Thursday.

  26. s.... ....

    PS. Let;s get fracking.

    s.... ....

    Yeah, you're an idiot.

  27. s.... ....

A beautiful song. I love Traffic. God does not exist.

    s.... ....

+slamtodeath No God don't exist and neither do you, blind man.

  28. D.... C....

I had the privilege of residing a mile or so away from Woodstock Manor, Kilquade, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, when Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Davy Spillane, recorded in 1993. I intraduced myself briefly to the late Jim in the Delgany, respecting privacy. Magic expresses my emotion when I play this sacrament. Eternal thanks, Traffic!

  29. v.... ....

extraordinaria sensibilidad tenía el gran Chris

  30. m.... ....

One has to think of Chris Wood who was the inspiration for this album. He was the heart and soul of Traffic.

  31. h.... ....

    lovely peaceful traffics song...exellent

  32. t.... ....

God I used to listen to this song when I was like 3 or 4 years old... Maaaaan, it's a long time since I've heard it. The intro makes me fucking cry

    t.... ....

Music and life will do that ..life ..our window of time

  33. T.... Z....

    Great Job.

  34. R.... B....

@mariesalman do not forget the contributions of Jim Capaldi to Traffic as well, and on this album, he and Steve colleborated on much of the writing!!!

  35. L.... K....

  36. M.... G....

Quando la poesia incontra la musica e si fondono in emozioni

  37. m.... ....

I believe this is the most important and beautiful composition of our time ...
