Tori Amos - Wings Lyrics

Sadly, I think Tori has run out of things to say, and ways to say them. She’s become a caricature of herself.

Well, she har been doing this for a long time, and eventually (like for most artists), she will meet her limitation when it comes to expression and flexibility as a composer, songwriter and musician. Very few have the abillity and drive to change or adapt a new way of genuinely express themselves. David Bowie and Kate Bush did manage that, and I think Prince frequently jumped out of his "comfortzone" and created albums like "chaos and disorder" and the more poppy "emancipation". I believe most great original artists work hard for many years before they find their sound/voice, and when they do, they stick to their guns.

As long as she keeps making beautiful songs, that's what ultimately matters. Look at someone like Madonna who tries desperately to go along with the times and stay relevant; she makes mostly cr*p music these days, none self-written like Tori does.

How so? This doesn't sound like her older stuff at all.

I think this is my favorite on the album. I don't even care for the lyrics, but the melody is amazing. up and down... so Tori.
