Tori Amos, there is and will never be a musical artist/story teller who comes close to you!! My favorite male artist was/is David Bowie, and you've been my favorite female artist since I was a young teenage girl. Your stuff then and your new stuff. Just blown away. Your music is like a mirror image of my spirit, heart and soul, everything that I've been, all who I am, all who I will ever be. Somehow it's like you get that. It comes out in your lyrics, in the way that you sing the lyrics, the way you tell a story, you don't just tell your own, I know I'm not the only one who feels this way too!! Thank you!! I love the rhythym and sound of the guitars. It reminds me of a cross between Paul Simon & Johnny Cash. A little hippy yet sinister. And the overlay of her voice on the word "baby." CHILLS

I feel like Tori wasted this record a bit... she could have made more videos, some of the songs are just marvellous and I think it's one of her strongest in nearly a decade. I liked Night Of Hunters (though I think that Tori could have focused more on herself, I am a bit conflicted about Tash and the other girl on that record), American Doll Posse had it's powerful moments, but Unrepentant Geraldines is the Tori we all love. As I listen to songs like America, 16 Shades Of Blue or Unrepentant Gerladines, I can picture the accompanying vids in my head.

I feel bad for saying this because I'm mostly a casual Tori Amos fan. I prefer her more alt-rock oriented albums, Choirgirl Hotel being my favorite. I like Geraldines but I feel it lacks a punch. Altho I understand most of her fans prefer the melody baroque stuff. I just can't bring myself to sit down and listen to her classical albums all the way through.

Mainly escaping/being evicted the the "devil" and sticking up for the ones you look after. Tori repeatedly insinuates that if the adversar(ies) want trouble, then they can go through her first. Her giving the girls their passports at the end has a significance in my mind

Yes, let's be Trouble Makers, trouble the waters (healing metaphor) for the troubled so that they have allies! "Trouble" is not the worst thing to be, and those who are called Trouble may actually be survivors. Trouble and Satan are not allied -- absolutely not!  Trouble shakes up the status quo and brings positive change. One interpretation...thank you Tori Amos! This song found its way into a sermon in a church in NY last Sunday.
