Tony Bennett - A Taste Of Honey Lyrics
Winds may blow over the icy sea
I'll take with me the warmth of thee
A taste of honey
A taste much sweeter than wine
I'll return
I'll come back for the honey and you
I'll leave behind my heart to wear
And may it e'er remind you of
A taste of honey
A taste much sweeter than wine
I will return
I will return
He ne'er came back to his love so fair
And so she died dreaming of his kiss
His kiss of honey
A taste more bitter than wine
I will return
I will return
I'll come back for the honey and you
I'll come back for the honey and you

man what a great interpretation... one of my all time favorite songs... I like this and Andy William 1966 version the most...
"i'll Come back" the "back" at 0:51 is so 60's style - so Mad Men... simply awesome phrasing
just as I was reading "I'll come back" he said it and it was on 0:51
My favorite TB tune. This would fit perfect in an opening or ending scene of season 1 of Mad Men.
Tony was responsible for the song in the first place. The theme was being used as incidental music for the play. After seeing the play, he felt the music would make a great song, had lyrics written for it and made the first recording. Thank you, Tony!
tony did not write the lyrics to this song, great adaptation though! Also the Beatles version was also released before this, as were many other instrumental and vocal covers. the 60's were a great time for music!
