Honestly, this sounds like a Roy Orbison 'B-side' in a way. Great tune, when done by Alive n' Kicking. It's okay here. It's just on Valium. ; ] This uses too many recycled Tommy James production elements from his earlier hits. If you know the music, you'll know what I mean. This is a perfect example of a tune that was done better by the artist or act for whom it was written than it was by the writer. The 1970 hit knocked this pitch outta the park. Tommy stalled on second base. That said, this is one of the best and 'grooviest' songs of its decade, and it will blurt out of me without warning. Ha!

The Alive and Kickin' version of "Tighter, Tighter" is still my all time favorite, but with thanks and appreciation to Tommy James for writing it.

Wow, never heard this version before. I know Tommy wrote this song for Alive n Kickin so I guess I'm use to that version.

He not only wrote the Song for Alive N Kickin but also produced them performing it.

Tommy James is one of the guys that makes you wonder who this guy is. He's Tommy James folks. One of the greatest musical genius's ever. Thank you Tommy for ALL the music you have given us.

My wife and I just saw Tommy James and the Shondells in Biloxi, Ms in March 2018. Still a great show. He walked through the crowd and was outside the venue after the show greeting people. I'm not sure if he was the first to record this song or not but I know many other artist have released his songs such as Mony Mony

Saw Tommy 4x won't leave till he talks to last person on line after show

That's a fact. Saw him last Aug. 18th in San Antonio. We were next-to-last in line and he still talked and visited and did a photo-op. A true gentleman.
