Tom Petty: burning bright from start to finish. That's just so very rare. To stay inspired, and sound it, for his entire career!! And most of the Heartbreakers still with him. Incredible story!

Love this whole album, its so clean recording the better tech gets they still option on vinal LP over digital CD// and on many albums released on vinal record, not CD digital disk/ i think its a way that Tom And The Heartbreakers made a good point on" vinal sounding better then the digital CD disk" you need a turntable record player but full deep sound is worth it!!!"/"you gave all you had and then some""Tom Petty,Bless You !" amen!

I totally agree. What I noticed is that a lot of Tom Petty albums, which we would upload and get inspired by and then buy, are suddenly off limits. Who is making the money? The record company. People would go in droves to download their favorite songs but now? Just watch. And be disgusted.

I thought :( was a symbol of LOL. Sorry if I misinterpreted it. Means happy for amazing music, yeah. To me, best band in the world and TP, genius. 40th tour; triumphant. He died because of his fundamental stubbornness. He had fractured his hip before the tour but it had already been announced and tickets sold. EVERYONE told him to do the surgery and postpone it. Tom was Tom. I will do this tour in a chair. Months of Vicodin on stages for hours ... must have been in absolute agony without the anesthetic effects of adrenilyn (sp sorry) when he came home. To my mind, he is the only artist who died from an excess of sense of responsibility to his audience. I just think about the live recording of Mystic Eye (30th anniversary tour) and it is THERE. Cheers and best wishes.

The more I listen to this album the more I like it. So many good solid songs of which this is one. Great catchy chorus. Also his voice is strong and clear - I think it is better than ever

The real Tom Petty died 6-26-2011 at 5:47 am. His spirit jumped in me.....he left me all his money....butt someone stole it from me...there are several mucisians that can back this up...
At one time we were legally married....he never had two daughters Kimberly or Adria. He never married Dan York. This is injustice....I have been diagnosed with cancer...Pamala Brock. :(

I love this album...I'll never forgot when I first bought it...I was on a bus leaving BMT and well downloaded it from my iphone. I was like man this is vintage Petty...So sad this was Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers last album (the album was released while I was in BMT and I was like, "The first thing I'm doing when I get out of BMT is downloading it !!!")...Tom you left on a very high note for sure!!!

It is so rare that bio details find themselves into his music. I don't think he was demonizing his first wife in this song, or thought about it at all; it just came out that way. He wanted to heal someone who was lost to the world, and confirm a new and deep relationship, I know woefully inadequate reading of this brilliant stuff. But this was Hypnotic Eye -- you know, the album where the snarl came back. But then this ..... He was so protective of his real self, as he needed to be, when he found that horrible word, fame, but his vulnerability and intelligence makes these songs something I hope will be listened to for a long long time. I agree with you; had a visceral reaction to this song the minute I heard it. Cheers!
