Like Innerspace ... i know why this wasn't on MTV often tho, kinda weak for Tom Petty most of his songs are super catchy and memorable, this one doesn't have that hook. But Love TP forever. I always said, "Tom Petty could put out a song tonight and it will be on classic rock radio tomorrow" Legend who walked among us.

Petty has been my favourite for many years, but there's so much I still don't know, like his video and song are new to me. That is Alice from Don't Come Around Here No More, isn't it!?

This could be his only "80's style" song.

All his music is pretty timeless and not trendy, but he actually has quite a few that sound 80s to me; Runaway Trains, You Got Lucky, All Mixed Up, Don't Come Around Here etc.

Love it how Tom's mike and stand come back to him, he smiles big every time -- it's a reference to James Brown who made that move famous (Prince copied it lots). Then the stand just spins around, no pretense to having control -- so funny.

I never realized just how much Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers were part of my teen years, I had totally forgotten about this song until I saw it in the Southern Accents mini-documentary! I blame myself, I blame radio programmers, something's to blame for me not seeing this in 30 years from the days when I had MTV pumping on my Zenith big TV after High School! Darn it! Needless to say, it's a joy and a heartbreak, today, it hit me hard Tom, I felt it almost physically. "Southern Accents" was a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics really made this album on production. What I would give to go back to 1985..

Word is that Tom punched the wall of the studio after listening to some tracks he didn't like. The end result were broken bones in that hand that required a cast and a couple screws.
