I have an 11yr old daughter and I am starting to play more and more older rock and roll to her. She has to go everywhere with me which I love so the price she pays is listening to what she calls "your music" to funny!
I have been playing a Tom Petty play list for her when we are in the car. I think she is starting to get into Petty a little.
I ran an Bon Scott only set of AC/DC for her and she actually liked some of those songs. There is so much music out there its going to take me awhile to get her mind opened up and away from the absolute shit she listens to.

Petty said the record execs wanted to change "cocaine" to "champagne" for obvious reasons, but he literally refused, telling them "Who the fuck would leave you over champagne, it's $15 a bottle?" RIP and thanks for 40+years of great music and no bullshit.

Tom told a story about an experience his first wife, Jane, had. She and a woman friend were at a party at Ike Turner’s house. At some point later in the night, a bunch of guys that worked for Ike locked all of the doors in a way that no one could leave. They were locked IN. Tom didn’t say much more, but it’s great that he wrote this great song in response to what Turner did. Ike Turner was a violent, abusive man. I wouldn’t want to be locked in his house with
