Todrick Hall - Water Guns Lyrics
[Todrick Hall:]
When I was just a little boy, me and my father
Would go out back and play a little game of cops and robbers
One day he cocked the gun and pointed at my mom and shot her
And I cried and cried with laughter after I realized it was just water
We're frightened but we need to be enlightened, use our brain now
People pointing fingers, trying to find someone to blame now
Ashamed how the game of cops and robbers ain't a game now
[Jordin Sparks:]
These ain't water guns
And please save all our sons and daughters
What we fighting for?
Cause these ain't water guns
Water guns, no more
[Todrick Hall:]
Look around, tell me how we ever got here
We fightin' hard, but the reasoning is not clear
Stop here, where is the love if it's not here
The solution to not getting shot here is not fear
And we can fly away on a balloon to another land
Or we can make this home, find another plan
Too much blood on these yellow brick streets
And history repeats until we can finally hold our brother's hand
[Jordin Sparks:]
These ain't water guns
And please save all our sons and daughters
What we fighting for?
Cause these ain't water guns
Water guns, no more
[x2]
[Todrick Hall & Jordin Sparks:]
So take my hand in your hand
And let's stand if we can
Pray for all the fallen ones
These ain't (these ain't)
These ain't water guns
[x2]
These ain't water guns
And please save all our sons and daughters
What we fighting for?
Cause these ain't water guns
Water guns, no more
[x4]
[Jordin Sparks:]
Do you hear them?
These ain't water guns no more

Todrick Hall Water Guns Comments
Fucking stunning. I love you so much, Todrick
✊🏾👳🏾♂️
He can do no wrong
I can tell y’all why this not as popular as it should be. He’s black, gay, and this kind of message gets looked over in our communities. I love this song
some of these gun toting fools will never get it.
If you like this that mean you love all of todrick songs
Todrick 😔 Jordin😔 this is everything ok
Damn this song gave me chills and got me crying and omg glozell
Giving me Hamilton feels
My brother was killed and murder by his best friend this song had me emotional 😭 😢❤️
A voz da Jordin é simplesmente perfeita! Como uma cantora do nível dessa mulher não está no topo dos holofotes?
I'm back bitches and this is still one of my favorite songs from the project.
Wow this guy deserves a grammy

Such a powerful song. I cry every time I hear it. #ElPasoStrong
The people who disliked this video are trash
My heart broke when I saw Christina Grimmie's name on the video. :'(
Probably one of the single most heart-shattering, anger flaring songs ever written. NO ONE should have to fear for their lives. As a white girl who grew from poverty, I knew I had nothing to fear the police for... But fear I did. And I realize that I will NEVER have the same fear as my brothers and sisters with more melanin. But I will ALWAYS stand for them.
This song hits me right in the feels no joke this can be applied to so many situation in todays world and its sad people cant stop and realize the pain there causing others
i dont get the green faces
The album is called Straight Outta Oz and all the music videos are inspired by The Wizard of Oz, so the green faces are a reference to Elphaba the Wicked Witch, who's seen as the "villain" but is in fact just a victim
3 years later...this song still brings tears to my eyes. This country...
any song with Jordin Sparks in it is a great song...... :)
This song becomes more and more real every day. I live in Detroit and every day i see so much death and violence over things as simple as race and religion. Why is it so hard to accept everyone for who they are. Are we not all humans just trying to live as best we can?
I watched his Netflix movie I think three times over because it was so inspiring what he did and how little time he got the show together and how inspiring it was an aunt to be yourself and how you didn’t talk to his mom and his mom still checked up on him every day and I just wish I could be like that like to be the successful is my dream not doing what he did it would be insane because if anything is inspiring and he is a role model to look up to
What a beautiful message! This song is a masterpiece!
Okay Glozell!!
My favorite Song. This Message, the Voices all is perfect❤
For me, Jordin and Todrick look like siblings

2019, this is soo good
The other day I was listening to the soundtrack on shuffle, and this came on after Color.
Shuffle is against me.
This song needs to be shared with the world, not only is it full of talent but the message is so powerful🙌🏾!
I cry every time i listen to this song Todrick hall I am proud to know you are out there making a difference you are an amazing person, I love all your music.

Did you guys see Trayvon Martin on the wall
My great grandfather Russel Joseph Sr. died from a gun shot to his heart
Mmmmm... guess the universe felt i needed to purge. For the 4th time in 9 years, some kid was killed in front of my apt. Thanks, Tod. It was time to release that anger into empathy tears 💚💚💚
Obrigado por essa linda obra de arte vidas Negras importam 🙏🏿👼🏿❤️
I hadn't watched this video in years, when I saw Christina Grimmie's name show up I had to pause it. Now I'm tearing up. All these people..they deserve to be here still.
To this day this song still brings me to tears..We need to do better
i love this song
This song reminds me of a friend of mine who drowned at lake erie in 2017 when i was in 5th grade i miss him and my cousin got shot during a war
The man is talented....he needs to be a mainstream, class A, top tier sought after Hollywood director, writer, actor, singer, choreographer and dancer! This guy has more talent in his little pinky than some of these so called artist that make these weird noises like "okerrr" and fake English accents on artificial butt cheeks with pink hair. And some of these other so-called artists with tattoos all over their bodies and faces with gold teeth and strange voices on their albums calling it rap or whatever. Just my opinion! Todrick is beyond basic...he's above mediocre...he's hard core and hard working! I love this guy! Keep doing yo thang Toddy! I'm really interested in your art and entertainment!
yo.toddy. was just watching iyanla ep where a dad killed a young man's mom. damn U R SO RELEVANT 2 MY LIFE AND WAT I AM LEARNING. U R RELEVANT 2 RELEVANT 2 WAT I AM LEARNING
definitely taking a lot of influence and harmony from troy bolton and hsm 2
These ain't waterguns...
I got a different kind of chills
3 years later and hundreds of listens to this song and I still tear up every time i listen to it.
What's the number on his hat? I don't remember any reference to that number in Wiz of Oz.
This song is so powerful! Todrick's lyrics backed by his and Jordan's heartfelt voices make this song incredible!
I get 🎶Alexander Hamilton🎶 Lin-Manuel Miranda vibes, especially from the beginning! 😍😍😍
Omg amazing song😭💜💜💜💜
This touched me so much! Simply amazing
Todrick needs to be in movies!!!
I still cry at this song! It's so beautiful😭
#blacklivesmatter #RIPChristina
I’m not crying
This song especially applies now, who’s here January 2019? I love this song, it has so much emotion
I feel like the whole world (but mostly america) needs to listen to this song a really take it to heart... it had such an important and powerful message displayed beautifully in a song. I felt this way 2 years ago, and I feel it even more today.
Such a profound song. I tear up each and every time I watch.
Wow😭😭!!
It’s crazy how it’s 2019 now and people still haven’t learned anything. We see all these shows about all this kinda stuff happens but no one actually thinks that it could happen or try to make a change. There are school shootings, random people hurting others, drive by shootings, and more. I still feel bad for all the people who lost there lives because one person was angry or something happened. Like a Christina Grimmje. We need this to stop and I will forever try.
Lost my brother to a drive by I miss you Ty so much he was so young
This is the black national anthem #Blacklivesmatter
#endthehate #BLM
I cried and repeated this video 10 times and cried every time because my 25 year old uncle, and 17 year old brother was shot and killed by unknown people who hated them 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🤧😭😭😭😭😭
Glozel ‘s face was priceless!hahaha
This song gives me chills everytime, how is this song not on the billboard top 100's
How does....this not have more views?
This song deserves more than 1.6 million views
Is no one gonna say anything about the beauty that is Jordin Sparks, who is almost an urban legend from 2006, and like, no one remembers her anymore??
It is horror
Nobody wants to live in this Environment my little sister dad died when she was only 10 months now he's dead
Everyone needs to really listen to this song 😢😢🔥
This song makes me 😢. Todrick is so talented
Sad how every year following the release this song the message only grows more and more relevant.
I kinda wanted Kevin from PTX to lend some of his percussive skills to this song...
This ain't the dollar store,
It says a dollar but it cost more,
So tell me what you lying for,
This ain't the dollar store, dollar store no more...
I hoped something would change after everything that happened in 2016.
But here we are in 2018,and since 2016 there have been one Manchester attack,a lot of school shootings, xxxtentacion's death and God knows how many other things.
This made me cry because my brother got shot 2 year ago
What a powerful song
Love this song‼️
This song is like the toronto canada anthem so many shootings so sad it needs to stop
I love love love Todrick. He is my baby.
Seeing GloZell really got to me, she is usually more lighthearted on her channel, but seeing her here with such a heartbroken expression really drove the dagger of feels deeper in my heart
This makes me so pissed that someone has to March and fight not to get shot. I tried to explain how shitty that is too my mom and she complained that "they got all these Hispanic/black scholarships and shit" and "your punishing yourself for being white" I'm not being told to be ashamed for getting white but to take down the states of oppression white people built . Also in Mario the people in last get power ups so there is a possibility for them to succeed while those at the lead don't.
he wrote Christina grimmie on the wall as a tribute to her that's so sweet
