Todd Rundgren - Healer Lyrics

My child, I had a visitation in my sleep last night
Something was calling to me from a blinding light
And told me not to fear it, hear it

It said, "it's time to make the world a little wiser.
There are enough destroyers and criticizers.
The world needs a healer, healer"

And I awoke, my heart was pounding
'cause it was not like me to have such dreams
But I could not fall asleep for wondering
Why the messenger had come to me

My child, I am too old and I am set in my ways
But now I realize just what the voice conveyed
You will be a healer, healer

Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice
Because the healer comes
The healer comes

Your destiny I lay before you
But then the choice was never yours nor mine
When it's time to take this burden on you
Then I will take the one you leave behind

Todd is the best! He is nominated for the 2020 R&R Hall Of Fame and he deserves to be in there! You can vote for him daily until Jan.10/20.
New this year, to cast a ballot in the official Klipsch Audio Fan Vote, you can search “Rock Hall Fan Vote” or the word “Vote” with any Nominee name on Google to cast your ballot.

Please, no offence, but how can you not know Todd does NOT want to be nominated or inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and detests the whole concept, as should every sensible person.

@dratoe I've heard him say that as well but deep down I think he probably would take some satisfaction from it if he gets in. I would hope he would show up for all the fans who have been rooting him on through the years. He must realize the support he has out there. When he is gone, his name will live on better if he is in the R&R Hall Of Fame. It will also raise his profile and perhaps bring new fans on board and wouldn't it be great to see him be more recognized for his genius? And I'm pretty sure he is on the road for 200 or so days a year not only because he enjoys it but he needs the money to support his lifestyle. How many more years can he keep this up? I would love it for him to get the financial rewards he deserves so he can tour less if he chooses and concentrate on making more great music! All the best!

@dratoe BTW, no offence taken :)

OK I understand your point, but if even if he did respect the institution it would still be an insult for him to be inducted behind all the non-entities and music industry asslickers who got there ahead of him. Also, understand that being in the R&R hall of fame is as much about conforming to the demands and expectations of the record industry, which is something that Todd does not do, as you know. If fact he has literally devoted his life to bypassing peoples expectations of him as an artist.
As a huge fan, I can admit Todd has behaved like a spoiled child at times and damaged his career, and also in my opinion denied his fans material they would have enjoyed far more than "concepts" like With A Twist, which got my head scratching. But one thing all Todd fans agree on is that he owes us nothing.
Anyway I'm 100% convinced he wants no part of the HoF, and I'm going to respectfully advise you to back off your advocacy.
    Cheers!

@dratoe Good points. If he is totally against it I wonder why they promote his nomination on the Spirit Of Harmony website? You would think he would he would not allow that? I also read a recent interview with him where he was a (a very small) touch more moderate about his opinion saying that he had mixed emotions about it. He apparently also said last year that he was disappointed for the fans (not him) that he didn't get in (I believe Michelle said that on twitter). I certainly am very happy that he received the Les Paul award. I know he appreciated that one :)

When I have been down trodden, I can always rely on Todd to make me realize I am being selfish and that I need to help/teach/show others humanity/compassion/love light of the world shine on us all

  8. L.... M....

Reminds me a lot the music style and the topics that Yes uses in its songs, without being this a negative review at all, rather the opposite

I was watching old SNL episodes and saw this song. What a great tune!

I trust Todd more to heal me emotionally, spiritually & cerebrally than I do the Oncological surgeon whose knife I go under next month. After all, Todd has proven his affect on lessening my loneliness & impacting my sense of humane connectiveness- throughout my life thus far. Music-and Todd in particular-equates to healing.
