  5. D.... B....

I sing and ugly cry to this song at 4am to purge my demons.

  6. M.... D....

    Cant like this enough

  7. P.... O....

This was what we played for my brother at his funeral.

  8. K.... m....

This album is both relatable and inspiring! The kind of hope that comes from falling and considering getting back up.Hymes of the broken. Sometimes you have to break to know what it is to truly heal and appreciate the view when hope is revealed stretching it's wings and casting a shadow on yesterday.

  9. F.... F....

_What the line between desperate and redeemed?_

  10. C.... J....

Christian, blues, and rock all in one amazing....

  26. D.... A....

great song really cool album it was aimed at more towards mainstream metal when released totally different from Killswitch Engage and no they are not a Christian band this release with Jesse and Adam was the stepping stone that led to Jesse's return to Killswitch Engage small side project they were working on Welcome Back Jesse we will miss you Howard

    D.... A....

it really is a great honest, transparent album that they put together. glad to have jesse and KSE back firing on all cylinders. howard is gone, but not forgotten. check out his latest song he did with JASTA - chasing demons.

    D.... A....

    D. Angel no they speak truth and common sense. something this world is missing

    D.... A....

Yeah, Howard still helmed the vox in my most favorite KSE albums, but Jesse is incredible as well (especially in Incarnate and of course Times of Grace). I consider both to be different but equally great...

  27. D.... C....

My friend brought this album round for me when i was bed bound from surgery, i used to listen to this song and feel really sorry for myself. Now I'd give anything for a month in bed lol

  28. M.... S....

you're not dead yet. get off the pity party bullshit and go live life man. use music as a healer and use it's power to go kick life in the balls bro. \m/  \m/

  33. d.... d....

this album is class. a religous/spiritual theme is quite evident?

    d.... d....

universal/spiritual, nothing specific, it is handled really vaguely, which is the way I like it.

    d.... d....

Finta Simon doesnt matter anyway class album 😊

  34. F.... k....

it's hard to listen to this song and not cry..

    F.... k....

Especially when the lyrics are so damn relate-able. I was going through my divorce when I found this incredible album and it just tore the heart right out of me but I couldn't stop listening over and over and over...

    F.... k....

    Maybe if you're gay

  35. c.... ....

  39. J.... N....

My father would have really loved this song. RIP Dad, I truly miss you.

    J.... N....

    RIP Brother

    J.... N....

    RIP ❤️

  40. i.... ....

My interpretation of this is he is talking about becoming another statistic to depression. It's well known jesse has it and well known he writes about it, and he is consoling himself telling the part of his brain that isn't the depression he can make it and he can only do so if he has faith in himself. Or he will be just another death by depression

    i.... ....

The lyrics is credited to Adam actually. The whole album in fact.

    i.... ....

@SREEKANTH SREEKUMAR They are linked to both, but some of them are written by Adam.

  41. J.... P....

Some of the best leads are at the end of the song

  42. V.... B....

Words only lead me to the cracks in my disguise.
My flesh a prison for the man behind these eyes.
I sing the epitaph for an unnamed king.
Carved in this tombstone all the lost pieces of me.
How far is the distance between you and I?
How long before this silence dies?

Lost in a sea of sadness.
Blind in this place of darkness.
If I fall would you be there to raise me up?
Or will I be the forgotten one?

Lead me to the crossroad I can find my way home.
Devils on my back and angels in between.
The scars and dreams that made me believe.
Wheres the crime scene in remembrance to me.
When our eyes meet do you know the man beneath.
Walk the line between desperate and redeemed.

Lost in a sea of sadness
Blind in this place of darkness
If I fall would you be there to raise me up?
Or will I be the forgotten one?

And my hands are songs for the broken
(through every word that was spoken)
(do I carry half the whole plate)

Lost in a sea of sadness
Blind in this place of darkness
If I fall would you be there to raise me up?
Or will I be the forgotten one?

    V.... B....

the line " where's the crime scene in rememberance of me", i think it's actually "words the choir sing now in rememberance of me" i could be wrong

    V.... B....

I always thought it was, " Waves are crashing " lol

    V.... B....

correction : (do I carry half the whole plate) --> (do I carry hope for the hopeless)

  43. m.... o....

isso sim e uma musica de verdade linnnnnnnda

  48. f.... ....

One of the few songs I accidentally learned all the words to, begginning to end, through sheer repetition and replaying it.

    f.... ....

Same here. Been on repeat for a few days straight now lol

    f.... ....

If you are going through a hard time in life it becomes damn near impossible to turn this record off!

  52. B.... S....

    SHUT UP!NO IT"S NOT

  53. C.... C....

So beautiful, but so sad at the same time. This song made me feel so good, but so bad...

    C.... C....

+Cinthya C. Santana my thoughts exactly

  54. K.... B....

These lyrics are clearly focused on personal spirituality, not Catholicism, not Christianity, but a personal higher power. It's incredibly moving.

    K.... B....

It can relate to almost any religion

    K.... B....

Jesse is a christian but he says that his lyrics are more spiritual than anything. He doesn't want to push his beliefs down our throats, and that's one of the many great things about him. I look up to him so much.

  55. T.... P....

Hey guys, if you have a sec, check out my guitar cover of this song! I'd appreciate any feedback you guys have on it. Thanks!

  56. J.... C....

Jesse leach in my opinion is the greatest vocalist of all time!

    J.... C....

While i enjoy both KSE and Times of Grace, Maynard of TooL is the greatest vocalist of all time.

    J.... C....

@Jacob Carreon I know it's not metal, but Freddy Mercury holds this award IMO.

    J.... C....

Its not a contest. Talent is subjective to whoever is experiencing it. I think Jesse is great. I think Howard is great. I think Freddy Mercury was great. I think Maynard is great. There are no losers here...

    J.... C....

Jessie is up there for me in this genre, alive or just breathing is my favorite metal album EVER. for me personally id say Jessie and Corey Taylor for their vocal ranges, Freddy Mercury because of his unique high notes and recently Ryo from Crystal Lake. Got to admit i'm also a sucker for prince too

  57. B.... H....

Jesse is a found again christian and is heavily into his faith

    B.... H....

    *born again*

  58. J.... ....

They are not a Christian themed band. But I think both Jesse and Adam are Christians.

  59. N.... J....

Yes, they r a Christian Metal band. Don't get it twisted!

    N.... J....

    They're not Christian

    N.... J....

+Mike Hawk Of course they are christians, you think they are muslim?

    N.... J....

@24Swiffer Jesse leach might be a christian but they've stated that they aren't a christian band the album is a very personal side project about their struggle with depression and they use christian themes to help convey that but this is still a side project from their main group Killswitch Engage and i've seen them live many times the last time i heard Adam ask the audience "WHO LIKES TO HAVE THEIR TITTIES SHIT ON?!?!?!" seems REALLY christian eh?

  60. D.... B....

    OMG HORRIBLE BAND

    D.... B....

    No it's not

    D.... B....

+Taurus SVM the guy likes Coldplay....don't worry he wouldn't know good music if it slapped him in the face

  61. A.... P....

This song is about feelings all you guys are on jihad over lyrics grow up enjiy shit once and a while

    A.... P....

    Thank you

  62. J.... P....

I think it's really limited to think in terms of a "Christian band" or "Christian music". Music is art and art by its nature can't be limited, while applying the term "Christian" limits to what extent the artist's spirit can be expressed. If a band as good as KsE tried to associate with the "Christian metalcore bands" they would lose my respect, as a Christian. I think history shows Christians have a tremendous level of creativity to offer the culture and science, but they didn't wear their religion on their sleeve. They made waves by doing what they did best. The scientists who practiced theology weren't scientists, they were dogmatists who burned the other scientists who disagreed with them. Christian music is trash and it's because they imposed the limitation, everything is derivative, everything is the same chord progression, the women all sing with the same airy voice, the lyrics are all vague and meaningless, that way they carefully toe the line between lyrics that can be "read to be Christian" but can also pass the secular smell test. In short, there's nothing Christian or artistic about it. Christian anything sucks because it's an imagined construct. It'd be like a Republican song or what Fuller Torrey would say, a purple idea or a wise space. Or you could go further, a bilingual cat or a frosty Cambodia. The conjunction doesn't represent anything real, i.e. it means it's utter shit.

    J.... P....

Have you heard of For Today?

I completely disagree with your statement, "anything Christian sucks." Respectfully.

    J.... P....

I was literally about to ask the same question McGaughey did... also, when you say "everything is derivative" referring to Christian metal bands, I think you fail to realize that ALL music is derivative. Music isn't "birthed from the depths of the soul," as many non-musician fans like to believe. That perspective is typical with fans who don't play an instrument; their lack of understanding surrounding how music is composed gives the perception of mystery and intrigue. It may sound cynical, but in reality we're all just stealing parts from each other and recombining them in a unique way. Listen to this song and tell me WHO it sounds like:

  63. N.... ....

I love that guitar. I'm really liking this whole album

    N.... ....

Playing it on guitar is even sweeter!

  64. D.... ....

    Sounds like Third Day

  65. S.... T....

damn people it isn't Christian rock....just do a little research and enlighten yourself

    S.... T....

Religious/christian influences are all over the lyrics..... Sure it dont make it christian rock but definitely religion is closely related to whom ever wrote the lyrics.

    S.... T....

    @Johnny Wayrest
You know what's crazy, going back to Numbered Days, To the Sons of Man, Vide Infra... Some of that stuff is downright prophetic, reading like the Old Testament prophets in my opinion, and I'm a very strong Christian. Jesse's dad I read years ago may have been an ordained minister which may have been an influence on him. And some of this Hymns of a Broken Man I bought last week has some of that same influence from what I can tell.

    S.... T....

@Johnny Wayrest Adam D wrote most of it while he was in the hospital because he got operated on his back so maybe wrote about religion and god because he is Polish (who mostly are christians) and he wanted the operation to end well, dont know for sure!

    S.... T....

Who cares, its spiritually uplifting and applicable to any religion or even agnostics. You don't have to be Christian (or religious at all) to appreciate an inspiring message.

  66. G.... T....

I'M A COWBOY.... ON A STEEL HORSE I RIDE... CUZ I'M WANTED (WANTED)... DEAD OR ALIVE

    G.... T....

    damn LOL

    G.... T....

    sounds like Bon Jovi.

    G.... T....

That's funny.. I know what you mean too

    G.... T....

I saw him at the Mall today he looked like a friggin zombie.

  67. L.... E....

Why all the HooHa, enjoy the music, its like the word Christian leaves a bad taste in some peoples mouths. Views are always a two sided coin anti or pro...I don't care lemons or oranges to me. However read the thank you notes on the back of the CD, Adam Thanks: God, for all of the gifts I have been given, for every blessing in my life.... Jesse Thanks: Yeshua almighty, the Lion of the tribe of Judah for all the signs and wonders you have allowed me to experience and witness in my life...(and a thank you note to his Father as wishing the world could see what a real man of God looks like and a love and thank you to Reverend DR. Leroy Leach for all the support). Hopefully this ends the silly debate ... LOL

    L.... E....

    Doesn't end anything actually.

  68. K.... M....

Who the fuck said they were Christian ??  If you think these guys are Christian then you've never met Adam D !  hahahaha

    K.... M....

every lyric of every song from Times of Grace and Kill
switch are Christian besides Holy Diver

    K.... M....

    @dan mohr
     All but Howard's songs

    K.... M....

I don't see it as "Christian" it's spiritual...

    K.... M....

    Jesse is christian.

    K.... M....

The band never claimed to be a "Christian band." Jesse HAS in the past made it clear that he was a man of faith. Reading the lyrics from every song on "Alive or Just Breathing" reaffirms this statement. All the elements of the true Christian faith are represented in those lyrics; and I do mean true Christianity, not the fake, pagan christmas/easter-celebrating churches posing as the Christian faith. His lyrical content has real substance, born out of true love for humanity, a genuine awareness of his own flaws as a human being, and the understanding that a price would have to be paid for the terrible things humanity has done(individually and as a species) if humanity ever hoped to spend eternity communing with the Creator of this reality. That price was paid in the form of the incarnated Christ walking this earth in perfection, without committing one wrong deed, and then being sentenced to death for crimes He did not commit, spiritually taking upon Himself the Father's Wrath & Judgment rightly reserved for the transgressions of all mankind, so that man could be reconciled with his Creator.

  69. R.... R....

By far my favorite song by Times of Grace

  70. c.... ....

I don't really see this as a christian song, although there's nothing wrong at all with thinking that. That's the great thing about music, one song can mean completely different things to tons of people. This is the best song on the album for me. The whole album is an underrated masterpiece, but this one takes the cake for me. Amazing song.

    c.... ....

Lyrically Tog is religious/christian.... you only need to listen and hear the message. But abyway different meanings to everyone i guess

  71. D.... H....

Jesse back with a really cool album

  72. A.... J....

not a huge fan of acoustic songs but this is awesome.
    #ChristianRock #TimesofGrace #HBFJ

    A.... J....

Ok, sure it's a reference. Doesn't mean the band has to be Christian. You can look it up yourself, even though you probably won't because you think you are right. Jesse has said that he is a Christian and he writes Christian values into his lyrics, but they are not a Christian band. There is a difference and you simply do not get it.

    A.... J....

@Anthony Jimison Dude all lyrics are open to interpretation, like even though i know Demon Hunter is a christian band, i find that their lyrics can be interpreted very differently according to which situation you're and how you choose to interpret them yourself. I know you may be too stuck in your own line of thinking and don't want to accept this, but even if Jesse and Adam are christians and some of these songs have lyrics which can be interpreted that way, it doesn't mean this band is christian in any way.

    A.... J....

    @Anthony Jimison
not necessarily christian rock as christian music is meant to praise God.
It just has a biblical methaphor.

    A.... J....

@Nazi Soldier says a Nazi Soldier who if he knew what type of person Hitler really was would understand that being a Nazi or even supporting them isnt biblical at all so why should your input matter in this case?

    A.... J....

@Johnny Wayrest Hitler was a coward that was even scared of his own shadow if it was different the dude had mental issues. just like our president now has mental issues.

  73. e.... ....

Already 3 years since the release of this album? Incredible...

  74. B.... ....

I hope you have listened to the new album, and have realised you had nothing to worry about.

  75. C.... D....

on the KSE Documentary DVD basically he said he was going through marital problems... and his voice was giving out... and was using more emotion than technique... and emotion is what can kill your throat.. i know because im a vocalist as well he had personal stuff to take care of.. but finally he is back!

    C.... D....

Charlie Deaver back. And his vocals are worse than ever

  76. k.... m....

WOULD YOU BE THERE TO RAISE ME UP? DEVILS ON MY BACK...LOST IN A SEA OF SADNESS........ AM I A FORGOTTEN ONE?

  77. N.... B....

Love this freaking song! Might cover it :) check out and subscribe to my channel please!

  78. d.... ....

i was almost thinking that same thing! either that or Sons of Anarchy!

  79. M.... D....

"i became a christian through a youtube comment" - no man ever said.

  80. P.... ....

I was going to type that -_-

  81. T.... F....

This was playing when I walked into my room and picked up my Ocrist replica from The Hobbit. Mad chills, alien feelings of impossible badassness.

  82. r.... ....

    Adam is a fucking god.

  83. S.... W....

I love this album, jesse really shows his range and good voice in this song. now the new kse album is badass but its kinda repetitive, as in each song starts out heavy with screaming then in the middle the chorus is sung about every song is like that on disarm the descent. plus his range isnt quite as good, BUT i love jesse's screams more then howards range jesse's growls are amazing and powerful

  84. R.... J....

you guys realise half of this song is sung by adam? :)

  85. .... ....

If I fall would you be there to raise me up Or will I be the forgotten one...?

  86. S.... ....

Jim Root joined in 1999. Only remaining founding member of Slipknot is Shawn "Clown" Crahan.

  87. A.... ....

Replaced Howard? Not even. He's just taking back the spot that Howard kept warm for him.

  88. S.... ....

    Jesse's back!!!

  89. P.... ....

You do realize Corey isn't an original member in Slipknot, right?

  90. P.... ....

    James Root?

  91. P.... ....

    This is...amazing.

  92. D.... ....

    umm..... corey? hello?

  93. M.... ....

Except there are no original Slipknot members in Stone Sour...
