I mean, they talk about sex in a much classier way as compared to other artists out there, but you can't deny that they're talking about sex when they say "Oh oh oh oh the way you're moving, oh oh oh oh it turns me on, I wanna touch you till we're burning..."

Yeah I was really waiting for the EP to come out, but at least they released the vinyl record of it on the site! I really wanted to buy one but then I realized I didn't have a record player.

I know right? Those covers were supposed to be for a covers EP! I was waiting for forever and a half for them to release it. But I guess they just ended up releasing it on S&S.

Maybe I just loved Dixie because I love Joe King's voice (more than Isaac actually. Love them both! Just love Joe's a litlte bit more). And I was really disappointed that the deluxe version of Scars & Stories was just 5 covers. I mean, covers are great, but it would have been even better if they gave us a few more original songs! Why not release Scars & Stories on the album Scars & Stories? Would have made more sense than just a bunch of covers :(

Haha thanks but I've already heard them! (I'm one of those obsessive fans who spent hours looking up their unreleased songs hehe. Still never found Scars & Stories, Brit, Estate, etc, but I'm slowly making progress!)
And chances are the songs won't be on the next album. I think songs that get cut normally just vanish into oblivion, sort of similar to how Dixie kind of just vanished even though that was a great song :(

Oh, I think they announced it in a few interviews. Once they finish their world tour (I think Beijing is the last stop, and that's at the end of this week I think!), they're heading back to Denver to record their next album. They called it their "fastest turnaround album ever", because they wanted to stop having these 3 year gaps between every album or something. Either way, they said it would be out by the end of 2013! #Can'tWait

Yeah I know you weren't describing Maroon 5 specificially, it's just that Maroon 5 was the first band that popped in my mind.
I know I'm one of those diehard fans that probably would love anything they put out, but I really do hope that their next album doesn't disappoint. (Because I'm REALLY excited for it and I'm glad that they're trying hard to put it out soon!)

I wasn't specifically talking about Maroon 5, but I completely agree with what you're saying because lately, it's been more so about Adam Levine than anybody else in Maroon 5. But I don't think the same thing will happen with The Fray, since they're not a judge on the Voice and what not. The Fray will probably try to be more radio friendly with the new album that they're trying to get out, but I know that I will always love their music.

Sounds like you're describing Maroon 5.
You can already see they're style is changing to maybe more... radio-friendly music so to speak, but let's just see what happens with their next album, supposedly coming out by Christmas of '13 :)

I'm not saying that they compare to today's music at all, because I've also been listening to The Fray for years and preferred The Fray to eveyone else. They are just very consistent with their music, and they're only growing with experiences. I'm just trying to state that, with more popularity, the record companies might push them to create more radio-friendly music, which can go pretty bad. They are popular, but not overrated.

It doesn't matter how famous they become, because those of us who have listened to them for years know they have been singing about the same themes from Reason EP to Scars & Stories: Down to earth themes about real life. It seems some sexual themes are starting to emerge in their new album, but it's still nothing compared to today's pop music about the same three themes: Drinking, Sex, and Drugs.

I like The Fray being underrated because I'm too selfish to have more people listening to them. If they become as famous as Justin Bieber, they'd have to make songs to please everyone and it would sound like every pop song. I just don't want to get sick of them, even though I don't think it's possible.
