Thrice Death From Above Comments
  1. K.... R....

I mean, we as a nation have definitely abused drones and their capabilities. That being said, if we have the opportunity to take out a target without risking the lives of our own men then hell yeah, blow that sum bitch out of existence. But obviously America has approved of some very questionable bombings without %100 verification on targets.

  2. M.... B....

"And he required all the earth and its people to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. He did astounding miracles, even making fire flash down to earth from the sky while everyone was watching. And with all the miracles he was allowed to perform on behalf of the first beast, he deceived all the people who belong to this world."

  3. B.... W....

    Good Stuff

  4. J.... R....

Protest and hate the methods our military use. We protect you nonetheless.

  5. H.... S....

The way Dustin screams the word Sky gives me chills. It's such a powerful voice. I think Dustin has definitely peaked on this album and it has to be my top Thrice album now

  6. a.... b....

    Emery and thrice tour 2018

  7. S.... S....

Where the hell is the music video? I NEED it

  8. J.... R....

I am happy Thrice is back and putting out awesome stuff again.

  9. H.... M....

As a Senior in highschool about to leave to become a drone pilot. This is off putting slightly

  10. J.... ....

I love this song on the album a hidden jewel

  11. J.... O....

This just captures the reality that drone pilots have to face and often become disillusioned with.

  12. S.... M....

    this song rocks

  13. W.... D....

    Damn...

  14. P.... ....

The Guitar solo at 2:20 is the best part of the song!

  15. W.... B....

Just bought this album to play in my car. Alot less cringy as some Christian bands I can actually listen to it.

    W.... B....

Only half the band is Christian, and most of the music references Christianity, and isn't preaching about following Jesus.

  16. K.... N....

To answer your question Thrice, it's the Jews, that's why

  17. a.... h....

Showed this to my mom, said it sounds like its about 911...hearing a military pilot perspective though.

  18. J.... M....

    enders game

  19. S.... D....

do their vocal cords ever die!!??

  20. F.... M....

Banda fodaa do caralhoooo , cade os BR nessa porraaaa !!

  21. J.... W....

The amount of ass this album kicks is immeasurable.

  22. S.... ....

Now this, THIS is how you combat a left sided idea that DOES need to be critically thought through without being like "ewwww fuck them leftist SJW cucks."

More power to these guys and that is coming from a liberal.

  23. F.... P....

    Verse 1]
I always thought, I always thought, that there was something different, setting us apart
That I was led, that I was led by men with sober minds and sympathetic hearts
I swore an oath, swore an oath, but never knew just what it was to take a life
I play at God, play at God across such distances and from so great a height

    [Chorus]
But I am never sure who I am killing
How many innocents were in the building?
I drop death out of the
No longer human beings, no longer people
Just targets on a screen, none of it's real
I drop death out of the sky... Tell me why

    [Verse 2]
One day they sent, one day they sent me to the chaplain when I said I can't go on
All he said, all he said was just to shut my mouth and do the "will of God"

    [Chorus]
But I am never sure who I am killing
How many innocents were in the building?
I drop death out of the
No longer human beings, no longer people
Just targets on a screen, none of it's real
I drop death out of the sky... Tell me why?

    [Bridge]
    Tell me why?
"To make us safe," so it would seem
But we shoot further than we dream
Can’t we see? We only justify
    Someone’s resolve to rise against
    And to avenge the innocent
And defend the ones that still survive
    I'm still asking "why?"

  24. s.... ....

This song would pair well with the governator promoting MOBILE STRIKE, DOWNLOAD for FREE, FROM THE APP STORE.

a paper tigers song about blitzkrieg warfare has been much needed on a new album, thrice promised, soThrice compartmentalized a healthy doseage of their post orwellian oppression roots, sucessfully channelling the murderous rage of a new world order tiananmen moshpit massacre spiritualism that few other christian rock groups have dared to explore : bringing us this nice sing in the shower tune for fearing the military industrial illuminati and fearing obama's dronestrikes above all. All the band members are to be commended for exposing this postzionist plot revealing a governator-promoted droneworship sponsored by an obamanation campaign of hope that was not worthy of the memory of terry fox.

Ever since thrice abandoned straightedge fashion, went angels and airwaves and mars hill, even as they worshipped radiohead musically, ive been just waiting for their song subjects to shift from harmonic shepherd flock love to more fear of forced domination doom from above like in lyrical matter.

  25. C.... D....

what a sick fucking string of songs to create an album

  26. E.... B....

The beginning kind of makes me think of musicals. Like Sweeney Todd or something.

  27. D.... ....

does anyone know why one of the thricedudes decided a bee image for a shirt design? new thrice merch. to me, this joint smoking bee is the biggest mystery in thrice apparel history since the infamous thrice bag

sorry for the spam, don't know where else to post this inquiry. online thrice community unity hasn't been the same since boards.thrice.net got sacrificed. feel free to delete my comments about geoff rickley and stuff i drank too much herbal tincture. f

  28. D.... ....

coheed and cambria, thursday.... and bands writting music about not resisting the willy wonka depopulation agenda are not to be trusted unlike thrice, who are aware of the dark forces of corruption that lurk in the realm of the dark lord (listen to the song silhouette by thrice for an idea of what i'm saying....thrice worships BOTH lords of dark as well as light...... when i first heard TAAATD, and paper tigers, i was like little charlie who stood no chance to resist wonka's youth-seduction program of sweet delight. like the william blake poem, some are born to sweet delights, some are born to endless nights... perfectly describes the orwellian thrice lyric agenda of gnostic demoralization

  29. D.... ....

thrice is one of my favourite orwellian 1984 country rock groups of this century going through the next. the feeling of nihilist despair and matrix-hopelessness that they have cultivated is perfectly balanced with the harmonic natural bliss of the punk countercultural hopefulness of their excellent musicianship. between TAITA's conspiracy theories and the oppressive radiohead influence that was to soon follow, it was only natural that Thrice would open up a virgin-ear-gateway to slowly incline listeners towards more malevolent/malicious music written about the depopulation agenda like tool, radiohead, beatles.. . thrice fans band together in the new mini dark age to come....survive the global depopulation agenda with thrice and grassfed unpasteurized goatsmilk

  30. D.... ....

i love how thrice is starting to sound more and more inspired by nickleback sounding with every new album since the mars hill scandal

  31. S.... A....

I can't comprehend how there's so many people in this world that have never heard of Thrice. It fucking blows my mind when you consider how long they've been around and that they're incapable of making an album that's anything shy of "exceptional". Anyway, fucking love this tune, and the entire album for that matter. Fucking brilliant as always from the 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

  32. M.... R....

black honey sold me on this album heard it driving and was mind blowin how perfect it all sounded. had to download it soon as I got home.

    M.... R....

listen to all their music. At least from this album all the way back to Vheissu, and maybe Artist In The Ambulance. If you can enjoy Artist In The Ambulance as well, then go ahead and listen to the first 2 albums as well, though it's more punk than alternative rock.

3 albums you MUST listen to are Major Minor, The Alchemy Index, and Vheissu, though.

  33. T.... O....

This band makes the type of music that makes it impossible for me to put them in a box where other bands are, it's too freaking expressive, this indignation feeling that this song for example brings me is fascinating and I feel it in every song I've heard from them, but in a different optic. It's hard to explain, I just know that it's divine.

  34. S.... M....

This song reminds me of Seether. The verse is similar to a few of their songs they've made.

  35. S.... ....

"We shoot further than we dream..."

    :.:chills:.:
    dustin strikes again

  36. S.... ....

i wish i could one day express to thrice how much we all appreciate their growth. from album to album, this band has reinvented them selves while staying true to self, all the way through. i can not think of another band who has a catalog this diverse and consistently great. i grew up submerged in this era of rock (afi, thursday, underoath, chiodos, rise against, alexis on fire ect..) and i can honestly say, 15 years later, that thrice has out performed all of their peers. my love for them has only grown, while i find my self clinging to most other bands first few albums. and the saddest part is most people dont give anything after artist in the ambulance a chance. as great as the first two albums were, and they were AWESOME, this band has an unlimited array of PHENOMENAL music to offer. so glad i stuck with them. most under rated band around.
THANK YOU THRICE!!! I APPRECIATE YOU ABOVE ALMOST ALL... much respect

  37. N.... C....

How many innocent lives are worth one criminal's life?

  38. C.... W....

it's as if thrice is literally trying to make me love them all over again. SUCCESS. PURE FUCKING GOLD.

  39. E.... A....

they've come quite a way since the artist in the ambulance

  40. J.... J....

as well as I believe I know thrice they have poured out a saving grace on my life in beauty and inspiration wow what humility I relate to they in many ways

  41. N.... P....

DAMN THRICE YOU NEVER CEASE TO IMPRESS ME. IF YOU READ THIS YOU GUYS ARE EVERYTHING I LOVE ABOUT MUSIC AND MY REAL MUSIC HEROES!!!!! YOU ALWAYS HAVE A MESSAGE THAT MOVES ME & INSPIRES ME TO PLAY GUITAR AND PLAY FROM THE HEART.

  42. Q.... I....

I love Thrice and have loved every album, but DAMN... this is one of my favourite songs since Artist in the Ambulance or Illusion of Safety... I love the contrast between the soft verses and the ripping chorus. I hope they play this live next week!

  43. Z.... R....

    This is definitely about Pharah.

  44. B.... ....

They have less than 9k subscribers? wtf internet!? Thrice has been one of my favorite bands for like 7 years at this point, so im genuinely shocked by that number

  45. t.... ....

This song leads us to question the relationship between Military, Religion, and being a human. Knowing that Dustin explores religion in his lyrics ("often") and directly referencing the Chaplain "to do the will of God" by killing is a disturbing notion. If you are a believer where does it put you around how the country addresses military action at the sake of killing innocents? Excellent song btw.

    **Disclaimer: I'm not religious

  46. s.... ....

The "I drop death out of the" part reminds me of Mastodon so much

  47. J.... R....

Like the sound, part old Thrice and there more recent vibe. Appreciate!

  48. m.... ....

They certainly sound different then how I remember them. sounds heavily influenced by Hot Water Music and I dig it

  49. T.... B....

i dropped death out of the.....
i dropped death out of the SKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
yeh right on man thrice fuckin rule.

  50. D.... B....

this song is the fucking nuts.

  51. A.... ....

Favorite song from the album so far.

  52. B.... C....

This is pretty emotionally crushing if you know what the song is about. Easily one of the heaviest songs they have ever done. Maybe my favourite track on the album.

  53. M.... S....

Anyone else been with Thrice since their first impressions album? I have literally grown from adolescence into adulthood listening to Thrice the whole way and they NEVER disappoint. This band has so much more substance than so much of the music out there. I remember writing on my binders in high school "Thrice 4 life". Plus somehow Thrice fans always seem to be super chill.

    M.... S....

    same here !

    M.... S....

Same here the old Thrice message boards were the shit.

  54. M.... L....

amazing vocals that have come so far in technique and tone....I remember the first time I heard their first album, haven't stopped listening since.

  55. S.... ....

def need to but this thing. Great month for music

  56. L.... M....

Effortless mastery of emotion. Never disappoints.

  57. S.... 8....

As much as I don't wanna say it. This album kinda reminds me of Three Days Grace at times(with their first singer). I think it's just the heavy yell that keeps doing it though. They both sound similar. The instrumental aspect of the song....not so much. Thrice is way better.

  58. M.... d....

    Top draw

  59. R.... D....

The lyrics in this song... Hoooooooly shit. One of their best songs. I tend to prefer TAITA/Vheissu era Thrice, but this is top 3 Thrice songs ever for me

  60. G.... H....

Who in the hell dislikes this??!

    .... Must be ISIS

    G.... H....

Probably those people who were teens when Illusion of Safety came out and, unlike Thrice, never grew up.

    G.... H....

+Mike Morphew been around since IOS and I love this sooooo much

    G.... H....

Actually considering the content and the meaning of the song it'd most likely be ISIS liking the song and the US Air Force disliking it lol

    G.... H....

Or any military that uses drones.

  61. R.... S....

when Dustin sings "I drop death out of the...", it sounds a bit like Thom Yorkes vocal on Myxomatosis

    R.... S....

if thom went post-hardcore but now that you point that out it IS a similar melody haha

  62. E.... S....

After having a whole go at the album, this is definitely my favorite song. Then maybe Hurricane for runner up. Great album overall though, powerful both lyrically and musically.

  63. C.... C....

    Didn't Know this band, it's awesome !

    C.... C....

Welcome to the wonderful world of Thrice. Total disclaimer, no two albums sound that similar. If I had to recommend an album closest to this, I would say Vheissu is nearest in sound. Enjoy :)

    C.... C....

+Blankface91 thanks i really like the voice in this song.

    C.... C....

major/minor sir, that is their peak album

  64. D.... D....

Gettin some "call it in the air" vibes. This song is too cool

  65. H.... J....

Amazing...I get a bit of three days grace in the chorus?

    H.... J....

TDG sucks now. If it was old TDG I'd probably say they were better than Thrice at one point. But it's hard to say because when younger you like different things.

    H.... J....

Honestly a bit of the chorus reminds me of some tool/hurt. Idk how to explain it, but the way he's saying parts of the words, instead of just the entire thing altogether. Like around 1:12?

    H.... J....

I hear hurt in the verses for sure...but chorus, I don't hear tool....maybe the guitar tone, but not the vocals.

    H.... J....

    @Hussam J
I can't remember if i heard it on the chorus or verses, but I meant the pronunciation of the word. Like say there is a word like nightmare and you say ni-ght-ma-re if you get what i mean.

  66. B.... H....

Lol guys this song is about a drone pilot, not every song on this album is about Mark Driscoll.

  67. m.... d....

    Reminds me of "Daedalus"

  68. B.... D....

Just preordered. Tonight can't come soon enough!

  69. E.... ....

chills.....amazing....can't wait for the rest of the album. love! love! love!

  70. C.... O....

anyone else making a connection the the Mars hill church downfall?

  71. J.... J....

Sounds like three days grace :/

  72. O.... M....

    That bridge tho!

  73. a.... h....

Love the grittiness of the track, reminds a bit of firebreather

  74. J.... H....

Another masterpiece by Thrice. To me this is the all-around greatest rock band on earth.

    J.... H....

I'd hardly call it "rock" it's more like "eargasming" XD

  75. R.... G....

Can't help but wonder if this song is about Dustin's experience at Mars Hill Church...

    R.... G....

I think part of it. The other part seems like the point of view from a drone operator/breaking down US foreign policy?

  76. s.... ....

this is like the 20th time that I've listened to this song in 2 days

  77. J.... M....

Strong. Real Strong. This hit me in the heart so hard.

  78. B.... ....

This is a powerful song! This is why I love thrice! And we should always want to know why or ask ourselves this question in life!

  79. D.... V....

It doesn't suck.... IT DOESN"T SUCK!!!!!! I'm so happy!!!

  80. T.... ....

i love the direction they are going in with this album. This and black honey are killer

  81. s.... ....

I'm not sure why but the instrumental section after the second chorus is extremely pleasing to my ears.

  82. J.... P....

Someone notices the link with the theme of The Sky Is Falling? Dustin tweeted the lyrics from that song not so long ago...

    J.... P....

I also get a Tool vibe with this song. Is it me?

    J.... P....

+Jasper Pollet Nope. I can hear it also.

  83. l.... ....

Love this song! I can see O'Brother's Lay Down being an influence for the chorus.

  84. U.... A....

Sounds kinda like One X Three Days Grace...

    U.... A....

@Danny Sarbiewski Does it not? I mean it is obviously better than Three Days Grace, but even Dustin's voice sounds similar to their vocalist, especially in the chorus. Wasn't a dig at all. I will not be taking your L.

    U.... A....

Listen to the rest of the album dude, you won't be disappointed.

    U.... A....

I agree but it sounds better than Three Days Grace.

  85. P.... ....

It's like a track from Beggars and a track from Fire EP had a beautiful, yet brutal baby.

  86. B.... K....

Most excited I've been for an album in a while.

  87. s.... ....

    Yay more music

  88. K.... L....

thrice is back at it again with phenomenal music. cant wait to buy this album! i don't buy many albums, but when i do it is not because i am a fan, but the music actually means something, is enjoyable to listen to, and has my respect. thank you for keeping it real with your music.

  89. k.... ....

Music doesn't get better than this.

  90. T.... R....

How can the best get better? Album after album they never cease to amaze me. Always evolving.

  91. j.... l....

its amazing how these guys keep impressing me more and more every time they put out something new.. ive been a fan from the beginning and grow along with their music.

  92. R.... M....

The combination of rock and metal that only Thrice can provide.

Though at the power chords section I can feel a bit of Mastodon. Which is great !

    R.... M....

I actually feel it's more akin to Isis. But the sludge metal influence is totally there.

    R.... M....

+Bryton Cherrier *pulls up wavering radiant playlist

    R.... M....

i agree, the intro has a bit of Isis' Maritime inspiration

    R.... M....

Rares Macovei You should check out a band with a similar style called O'brother. Id recommend the songs Complicated End Times, Endless Light, Poison, or Bear

    R.... M....

    I love O'Brother's Endless Light
