Best kept secret ✓
I can hear you callin', callin' my name out loud.
Know that makes me wonder; used to be so proud.
Sudden realization goin' need me now, that's why.
I can hear you callin' me and so I'm tellin' you goodbye.
Don't expect no answer I'm tellin' you goodbye.
I can hear you callin'.
We can't get together, think you're just too good.
You can keep on callin' me till it's understood. Yeah.
You got to learn the hard way, I think you know it's true.
You got to get to get to get what you got comin', I know it's true.
Don't call out you're sorry, there's nothing I can do.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin', I know that's all right.
You can keep on callin' me till you see the light.
I don't need aggravation you've given me all along.
You, you do all the taking somehow I think that's all wrong.
Call me if you want to, realize that I'm gone.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin'.
I can hear you callin'.
rapper diamond d sampled this song for his rap song best kept secret
And first sampled by Grand Puba for MC Lyte 'I Am The Lyte' (1989) then by Three Times Dope 'No Words' (1990) and Black Sheep 'Similak Child' (1991)

Why are they not in the rock and roll hall of fame?
....the HOF is bullshit, that's why.
Three dog night was a cover band
I got this album when it came out in 71, I was 7 years old & the seeds were planted.. made me wanna play the bass
Frank Azack Harmony made me love Joe’s bass work.
@bigroy38 .....
First of all, this song was on the album, NATURALLY, not HARMONY.
And secondly Frank Azack, NATURALLY was released in 1970, not 1971.
Nash Burnette I know that. Was just saying Harmony made me enjoy bass-playing.
Bought the 45 for "Joy to the World" when I was a kid. This was the B side. I was obsessed with this song. Hardly ever listened to Joy to the World again. Great jam.

I was also i still am obsessed
Check out the original by Domenic Troiano and Bush released in Toronto Ontario Canada in 1968
very definition of BADASS
Cover of a song by the Canadian band Bush, who was had the same manager as the Dogs. Also covered by a British band called Chicory Tip. I put all 3 in my TDN playlist. Thanks for the upload!
t: LOVE posts like this as I had NO IDEA these other versions existed (though after listening to all three, safe to say TDN's is the DEFINITIVE version).
lost classic 1970 Sirius XM won't play on 70,s on 7
