The utterley fabulous Thompson twins. So sad to see nothing like this today,especially in terms of production. As yet the 80,s have yet to be surpassed in terms of sheer creativity. The 'future" arrived,then someone somewhere managed to set the clock backwards. All where left with is a concentration of the same. Creativity??? Where art thou. Loving that bass synth still,after all these years.

nobody would make anything as weird and wonderful as this today. This is from pop musics golden era of 1980-1986 where so many brilliant electro pop reords were created at a time when artists were excited about synthesizers and creating wonderful sounds. The fact they also put so much effort into their image was a bonus that has helped make them even more distinctive and memorable. I dont know what great popstars kids today will be remembering in 35 years time? shawn mendes? oh dear how tragic. he's not even memorable NOW.

I remember hating this as a 13 year old in 83 so I just wanted to check and see if I still hate it in 2019...I do!

Love this one.... I was early 30 s when the Thomsons released some wonderful tracks. I did jazz dance in a fitness club to this. Think the 60 s 70s and 80s had some astounding music.

I think this song fueled my love of 80s music, maybe even my favourite song of all time, between this and Bombay Bicycle Club - Carry Me (yes a very weird jump but I like lots of music)

Instant time warp back to Scarborough Seafront in 1983 every time I hear this...Best days of my life.

A few years ago, when me and my mates were all 14 we were really mad fans of the Thompson Twins (I have no clue why) and we adored this song. We used to go out dressed in long coats and say "we are detective" the looks we used to get from people was hilarious.

Why the heck do people waste their own precious time and resources going on youtube to watch something that they think is rubbish.... But then the idiotic no brains waste even more of their own time commenting about it below. Is it any wonder the world is a messed up place with so much negativity floating around.

I remember this from school 33 years ago now! Oh God, time flies and suddenly I feel rather old. But what a great tune :) My friend used to sing, 'We are defective' instead which was very funny when you're 14 but this music did at least stick in your head. My love is for heavy metal but 80's pop was actually magic. Happy times and somehow not that long ago when I look back now. The video is just a bit of fun. The song held up on its on and was played hundreds of times. I don't know how people here can get negatively worked up about a 3 minute tune lol Its like complaining that your popcorn at the cinema is different shapes and sizes. Its light, fluffy, throwaway and not meant to be taken seriously.
