Thompson Twins Sister Of Mercy Comments
Irmã da misericordia não chore por mim!
The synths on this song sound very similar to the synths on some of the songs on Sade's debut album Diamond Life. Not surprising since they came out at the same time.
Beautifully written song.
Have always loved this song, still have the 12" version I bought when it came out.
What would the world be like without British music? You're welcome.
Btw, sorry about the Empire!
Another great track
The 80s was a brilliant time to live in.just memories now
Was 16 when this came out, oh how the years have flown and its still brilliant.

When bands were super talented.
Still loving this 2019..never ever gets old

Good Lord! 2019, mid, as awesome as ever! Life made more sense back then. What the fk have we got now? Feminazis, transgender, etc,! Fucking marvellous exchange or what?
Good track with a nice bit of piano playing in it. Very like the album version much. This version was the best. Love there music. Good group and glad I was young then and part of the experience of it. Shame they ended to soon.
In 1984 this band was huge! They were just as big as Duran Duran and Culture Club.
Britânicos com estilo alemão de fazer música!
Great trio !!!.complimented each other with their individual talents !!!!.
great song
no offense but i was like o shit at 1:53
great song. shame people forgot all about it
still so brilliant; still so 80's
probably their best song
I don't understand how the Thompson Twins didn't get more credit. Their music is just so unique, and instantly recongisable. They definitely help put a fresh spin on New Wave and made it more pop radio for a few years there. They're definitely one of my favourite bands of all time.
totally agree with you
First album I ever bought, into the gap....fabulous band Tom,alana and joe
No doubt about it the 80's had the best music!
80年代はイギリスロックがかっこよかったのよ
One of the best band's of the eighties, great era loved it, memories,.!!!!
The intro piano line was enough for me to fall in love with it as a kid, brilliantly lovely song. FAB GROUP.
Does anyone remember when London a weekend a television used to show pop video at the weekend that when I saw the song this was also show on top of the pops on a edition host by mike smith and jimmy Seville and I still get the video tape.

One of the best 80's albums, Into The Gap .
Es una canción perfecta, letra incluida.
What a tremendous song!
great song
Beautiful song and superbly performed. Beautiful arty imagery. Thompson twins had it all.
In a big white chair with stilettos, Lord sister of Mercy! - amazing lyrics!!!!!*****so miss the 80's music scene and the beautiful face of Joe Leeway.
Tom bailey an absolute credit to Halifax.
It reminds me of a guy I used to know...
dont cry for me bitch sorry that song really brings a lot back for me so sad some people dont know what they have till its reeeeeely gone
Una lástima el soplido que tiene, pero es una hermosa canción, y esta versión no está en el lp.
great band in the eighties
Love This.
The three were geniuses, and fantastic that Tom Bailey is gigging again! Every song they released as singles were truly fantastic, better than the current chart drivel.
And their hit albums were really good as well

大和田新田の人々を殺す!
大和田新田の人々を殺す!
No 11 hit from July 1984, a short clip from 1.45, you'll see a dead man, and that man was played by DJ Simon Bates
i never could stop listening to their Into th gap album. Every song was worth listening..
i prefer the album version of this song
Spot on.
brings back great memories of my teenage years at the disco lol!
11.3.16 --> eight 'sisters' showed no mercy :((
;-)
Brilliant 👍👍
I always wanted my hair like Tom. Now being 49 and going bald Ive finally had to let go of my dream........
You and me both mate. I tried growing a rats tail in 1984 when i was 7..didnt quite manage it..
That made me laugh ( 47yr old baldy )
Thats sad
I am sorry, but I guess you can still get it back if you try, look up Dr Robert Morse.
lol - so do I age 52 :-D
Very Nice,..
Anyone recognise Frances Tomelty, (Sting's first wife), in the video?
Yes indeed...good spot.
Some useless Pop Trivia: Sting wrote Every Breath You Take in 1982 in the aftermath of his separation from Frances Tomelty. And here she is 2 years later in a Thompson Twins video.
Sting’s song was about a stalker. This song’s about a woman who kills her husband. What strange webs we weave.
Bay City Rollers were the 70's
best song by the Thompson twins love this so much. wish they would reform for a concert love them.
+Marky Andrew I think they are still around, I'm sure one of my Dad's friends knows them. Don't know if it will be the original members though.
+Margaret Walker hi could you find out am going to be 50 on the 5th October this year love them to sing at my birthday celebrations this one sister of mercy.

Today the record company would have said 'no! no! no! you can't release that song - we've got this song from our writers you can record instead'
Full blast in car down to swim in freezing sea , love it SueX
One of the most beautiful songs ever written
But in a very dark way!

Top group memories of 80 's
Is Connie Ray in this video?
+croutonscarf
Frances Tomelty - Sting's first wife.
So grateful that I heard these guys for the first time aged 10 in 1982, I think it was lies on the radio while in the back of my dad's Vauxhall Viva car on the way to school, such a massive part of my childhood from 1982 to 1985 as I think all you other guys and girls my age and above might agree with (and maybe below?) 1980's music scene was brilliant to grow up with. Total class.
Vauxhall Viva...YUCK!
This was their best Song, they ever had.... :)
Cooling, yuppie-esc and utterly dramatic...
(Pat, Switzerland)
The Twins in thoughtful mood - glorious stuff !!!
All the rooms are lemon? They all look white to me : )
@Mark Borland I noticed that also lol. I did see Lemons in the rooms though :)))
Reading into it (As I Have Strong Tendency To Do In Life). I guess they meant................All the rooms are all Lemon.............Scented!!
+Nicky Naic probs the flowers lol
amazing one, huge tnxxxx
Music has never been the same since Thompson Twins disbanded!
Jeremy Godwin hi,they didn't disband , they formed babble. checkem out
love this song and a great album
Omg total classic! One of the truly great tracks from 1984.
Yes, what an amazing year 1984 was, it was pure magic, the year that earth stole a bit of heaven.
I think it's great. Tom Bailey knew how to put a tune together.
Such a happy song, can you imagine why they decided to invest in a video to this song? Crazy.
Best thompson twins song without a doubt.
@Stephen Ashlee hold me know 2nd, Love on your side 3rd.
For me it's The Gap...extended dance mix is incredible.
without any doubt
I love very good songs resonate with this song.
A great tune. I remember it well from 1984.
I do too. It reached number 11,for two weeks,in late July of that year.
Yes me too, I remember how everyone thought this was very different for a Thompson Twins song, and would it be a hit? Yes very much so. :)
Just! Fucking! Wow! Phenomenal remix of a fabulous song, to start with. Stunningly 'dark' video to go with it, too! Gotta say, i'm a burly, 6' 2" hetero guy, but i think i'd marry Tom Bailey. WTF is THAT all about...?? Lol! \m/ (:o)
