Thomas, B.J. - I've Been Down This Road Before Lyrics

I've been down this road before
I've felt like this somewhere before
I've felt the warm hand
Turn cold
Yes I've been down that road before

I've walked along this road somewhere
I learned a lot then and there
I know a smile can turn into a frown
I've been down that road before

I missed a lot of chances
Along the way
And I've seen a green light
Turn to red
Take the time
To read the detour sign
It's a heavy toll to pay

Empty feelings left to bare
I reached for you but you weren't there
Time stood still
With darkness at my door
Yes I've been down that road before
Yes I've been down that road before
Yes I've been down that road before

  1. J.... M....

THE best music in b side

  2. S.... ....

the better side of this record-no disrespect to 'hooked on a feeling''

  3. J.... E....

Great ballad. Thanks for the post.

  4. C.... D....

The album that featured this and "Hooked..." was one of his best and most overlooked too. At that point B.J. was at the peak of his talent. Songs from 67-70 were extraordinary!

  5. N.... T....

    Great song

  6. s.... ....

A beautiful song. This should have been a hit. Thank you for sharing it.

  7. G.... R....

    One of my favorites..

  8. 1.... ....

B.J. was a very good singer. One of this song's writers, Spooner Oldham, wrote a number of hits but is probably even better known as a legendary sideman. Fabulous keyboard player.

  9. B.... ....

Another unusual one :)) But very enjoyable to listen to ! Thank you PJ !!!
