In my opinion this should have been the single off the album. This song is more radio friendly than cold sweat.

too true ....cold sweat would always be a great track- but its not a single ...foolish decision to release that - you are correct ...this is the one ! thats should have been lead single (speaking of that phrase) _ i feel
"this is the one" " is the weakest track on that LP ....but even that is pretty cool...a great LP

In response to Cozy Thunder any song on this album could have been released as a single. My bad habits just talks about Phil. Every song on this album just let you know about devices that the man had. He was a junkie, a gambler, a womanizer, and an alcoholic the boot I believe. But it just goes to show none of that matters the man was a genius. Thin Lizzy has had some of the greatest guitar players ever more than any other band. Usually you have your one if you're lucky a second great guitar player. But with Thin Lizzy you always had Gorham. Then along the way you get Brian Robinson, Gary Moore, Snowy White, and John Sykes. It just goes to show you how great Phil lynott was. That these great guitar players wanted to jam with him. And yeah everyone always forgets to mention Brian Downey which gave them such a great Rhythm Section and he was one hell of a drummer also

Song wise, this album is one of their best, songs are great, tight & right, but, I just wished they had spent a little more time and a little more money on the production side of this album, at times it sounds great, other times, sounds like they were in someone's garage with a 4-track Tascam!

@stewart Wallace Well, that isn't exactly true. Phil wrote the vocal melodies and also a lot of the hooks and riffs. In addition to penning those wonderful lyrics. Trying to take something away from Lynott is pretty low, man. And entirely unnecessary.

The guitar riffs and breaks in this song tear it apart and the solo is sweet. Phil is his usual mastery self and whoever did the sound gets kudos for job well done. One of my favorite tracks period.

It;s really hard to say. Pretty much every tune shredded .

Scott Gorham and John Sykes on this album, I personally thought Sykes brought a much heavier feel to the band, and was bringing them into the future. This is of course a killer cut on a album full of them.

Riveting! Thin Lizzy had some great songs but I bought this L.P. Sad that it was so true and not just bravado. Phil Lynott's soul bleeds on this one baby. great production, songs, everything.

Scott Gorham's solo here is a masterpiece, it's pity that when I saw him play with "Thin Lizzy" at Download in 2011 he sounded like any of a number of generic metal guitarists. :(
