The The - Another Boy Drowning (Live) Lyrics
Monday morning I looked the mirror in the eyes
I think I'd kill myself if I ever went blind
Your life is slipping away
You find out you're older than you thought were today
It gets harder by the second
We all know we're edging our way toward the end
There's people on the streets
Throwing rocks at themselves
'Cause they ain't got no money and they're living in hell
But there's animals down the road adding fuel to this heat
It never did take much guts to be a sheep
Saturday night and I was laying in my bed
When it hit me like a thurderbolt
I don't know nothing and I'm scared that I never will
You pray to your god that you'll never feel so much pain again
But the agony has just begun
Moving on
Opening doors
Life just doesn't seem that simple anymore
And in case I don't see you again
I hope you feel glad that you knew me
While I was here

Marr's delay is hospital sick,
especially at the tail end.
He's a poet and don't we know it.
Been listening to the the for over 30 years and it's the one band I keep coming back to.

Monday morning, I looked the mirror in the eyes
I think I'd kill myself if I ever went blind
Your life is slipping away
You found out you're older than you thought you were today
You've gotta stay optimistic
It gets harder by the second
We all know we're edging our way toward the end
Carving hearts and crosses in my head
There's people on the streets throwin' rocks at themselves
'Cause they ain't got no money and they're livin' in hell
But there's animals down the road adding fuel to this heat
It never did take much guts to be a sheep
Saturday night and I was lying in my bed
The window was open and raindrops were bouncing off my head
When it hit me like a thunderbolt
I don't know nothing and I'm scared
That I never will
You pray to your God, that you'll never feel
So much pain again
But the agony has just begun
Movin' on, opening new doors
Life just doesn't seem that simple anymore
In case I don't see you again
I hope you'll feel glad that you know me while I was her
Love this song so much
such a great song
one of the greatest tracks ever written - and this is probably Johnsons best lineup of theThe for me ... Marr's riffs on this are just pulled out of the sky - kinda hear him breaking free of the Smiths shackles in the way he plays on this - his best work imho - so many changes and fills - just incredible - best theThe live track ever for me - thanks for sharing this timeless gem - and you can just tell Marr is loving every second of that Jam !
Infected album to me is a classic. Matt Johnson lyrics and fellow artists a lot of work getting it right. Quality and substance works.
I think I'd kill myself if I ever went blind - a genius lyric
A song that takes you to a special place....
