Ten Years After - Working On The Road Lyrics
I've been working on the road about fifteen years
Been blowing my mind, I've been blasting my ears
Don't you know, babe?
I've been sleeping all day and working all night
I made a lot of money, but it don't feel right
Well, I've seen the world and it's seen me
In a strange kind of way I guess I'm free
Don't you know, babe?
Well, I've seen it bad and I've seen it good
But, now, I want to clear my blood
Don't you know, babe?
I've got a feeling for home
Somewhere that I call my own
Well, I tried to live the way I should
I've shed some tears and sweated blood
Don't you know, babe?
And I think it's time I took a break
'Cause I have took all I can take
Don't you know, babe?
I've got a feeling for home
Somewhere that I call my own
Take me home, babe

Låtskrivare: Alvin Lee.
That band was a working-class band.
This track says it all.
I bought this fabulous album but I don't remember what happened to it. When I hear this tune I feel like I should be rolling a joint....after all these years maybe just a Pavlovian response.
One of my favorite songs of all time.
The best song on a great album. Alvin Lee's guitar play was magical
original British sound..a masterpiece in rock history...One of the Greatest Rock Songs of All Time..
Still got this record with the poster
What can I say but it don't get no better than this music ten years after are four fantastic musicians

Our music is so much better than anything today. Real musicians playing real instruments. What a concept!

I first heard/saw Tean Years After was on an old video recording live from Isle of Wight, 1970, and I was hooked. They played I'm Going Home. The way Alvin Lee smoked the intro on his Gibson ES-335 just really got me

Goin home! RIP died a year ago... Would have loved to be able to play like that. Now there's another Brit, Albert Lee who is a *pretty good* picker! to say the least.
Yea he was one of the greats and one of my favorites. I bought the dvd of Claptons Crossroads guitar festival of 2010 and Alvin was trying to get it done. Everytime I hear one of his songs it takes me back to the fish camp. I remember you used to say " His mama used to say Alvin shut up"
i' have a feeling for home!:)
Dancing now....
great band!
A TERRIFIC album!

Analog! Nuthin' better.
it was intentionally done for all the stoners at the time. Could you please pass the Cheetos?

R.I.P Alvin Lee,, you are one the greatest..
Farewell Alvin Lee,R.I.P, Hope there is a Cricklewood Green in heaven,If there is sugar the road for the rest of us.Here we have your songs to keep us going.
Alvin Lee passed on March 6th 2013. The music continues..
It's true. It sounds like the whole band goes whoosh for half a mo, rather than just one instrument. I always thought that it must have been caused by the tape deck going wonky somehow - just didn't make sense any other way. I once interviewed Alvin and asked about this, as it had bothered me for ever. He confirmed my speculation, saying it was caused by someone in the studio bumping against the master while recording. They liked that take and kept it, even with the imperfection.
rest in peace Alvin Lee...made alot of great music for us...
RIP Alvin Lee..........
RIP ALVIN...
RIP Alvin Lee.
ive always thought this tune's their best , take it or leave it
1 of the best songs off 1 of the best albums by 1 of the best rock bands ever. The damn advertisement at the beginning's gotta go...it's just plain wrong.
"Cricklewood Green" was the start of TYA's creative spark! One of my favorites in their catalog. Great song off a fantastic album.
This is one fine TYA album.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH
This is one of my fave TYA songs, i think.. there are so many, it gets difficult to decide!
My alltime favourit
That's not hard to believe, Winter is the fucking MAN, man!
If u don't think this is fine R&R, u have and earwax problem, pure and simple..
A pearl of TYA...
Glitch. come on puppy. need some advice on classic tunes....let me clue ur young asses in. no glitch just analog brilliance.Caio:)
Radio stations that focus on Led Zeppelin to the exclusion of everything else (old AND new) do a terrible disservice to their listeners.
What a great album ! I was in high school when it came out! Still have it ! Thanks for posting....
TYA concentrated, compact and drivin` on the road.... It has to be...
I prefer Justin Bieber (joke),
is your choice
Loved the song from day one; standing in a record shop with headphones on.

I love this song and this album. Thanks for uploading it!
..along with Mott, one of my fave
'70's band. I can remember 'shhh'
when it came out, not knowing much
about the band; the album cover looked
interesting and I thought, " more rock
and blues from Britain "...I think I paid
$3.oo for the album (1969), and I played
it alot...along with 'Cricklewood'.
Great Music ! Thanks for posting, tim !
