  2. I.... M....

    Amazing

  3. J.... P....

Fantastic album, later stuff pales next to it

  4. S.... M....

Odd - the copy I had (bought straight after it came out, on the strength of comparisons to Dinosaur) started with Heavy Metal (as does this tracklist) not Everything Flows (as the blurb says). Also - it sounds to me EXACTLY like the Teenage Fanclub - so I don't understand all the 'it sounds totally different' stuff. Oh - and if someone could explain how the title track is a 'direct attack on the Catholic Church', I'd be very grateful. Cheers!

    S Moore
This track listing is for the British release on Paperhouse Records. The American release on Matador Records has a very different track list and started with “Everything Flows’

  5. A.... N....

Why has this album been taken down from spotify?

  6. P.... S....

Everything Flows... still one of my favourite songs of all time :)

    P.... S....

My favorite song of theirs :)

  7. J.... M....

This album has Foo Fighters' sound

    J.... M....

    Jordi Morató
Foo fighters has this sound. This came out 5-6 yrs before their first record

    J.... M....

    no it doesn't

    J.... M....

Dave Grohl has stated that Teenage Fanclub was Nirvanas favorite band and they all wished they could write songs as good as them. So there’s definitely an influence

  8. S.... S....

    I love the Stones vibe

  9. i.... ....

Why is the track order all scrambled? This not even close to the correct sequence. Even the description above points out that the album opens with "Everything Flows." This upload is not a good presentation of the album.

    i.... ....

The version I bought started with Heavy Metal. IIRC side 2 started with Heavy Metal II.

This is the British release that came out on Paperhouse Records. The American release on Matador Records opens with “Everything Flows” and has a very different track listing. They both have all the same songs on them.

  10. J.... R....

Fleetwood Mac's "Kiln House" o. d.'s on fuzz.

  11. I.... j....

My goodness Scotland , you are really spoiling the rest of the world with your high end musical acts first you gave us wet, wet, wet, isla st clair, deacon blue, Owen Paul, the proclaimers, hue and cry,the krankies and that fella who did 'Donald where's your troosers' now teenage fanclub.Stop already with these musical genuises . Just kidding the fannies are really great.

    I.... j....

Jesus and Mary Chain and Primal Scream. Mogwai... pretty decent right there

    I.... j....

    Totally forgot Bay City Rollers!

  12. Z.... ....

I bought this at the time but gave it to a friend. Listening to it again, I can see why I did that. God, it's boring.

    Z.... ....

    GRAND PRIX is boring. Yawn.

    Z.... ....

not boring, well compared to Bandwagonesque etc

  13. d.... ....

One of the all-time great bands

  14. L.... B....

    creation british brilliant

    L.... B....

Not signed to Creation until a year or two after this came out. FWIW

  15. R.... A....

This albums rocks in a wicked way that The Fannies would never really do again.

    R.... A....

It sounds like they've recorded this LIVE in a home studio, very DIY. Which is great.
This is intense and fresh like a lot of Debut albums.
You can abuse me in a reply but I found GRAND PRIX very mellow and laid back.
Bandwagonesque is one the best albums I've ever heard.
Thanx to Delores from THE CRANBERRIES for writing "She wears denim wherever she goes,
says she's gonna get some records by The STATUS QUO"
OMG!! That blows my mind. Effin' awesome.

  16. t.... ....

It's really hard to place this album put next to every fucking album teenage fanclub released after this! It sounds like a cross between spacemen 3 and the more accessible sonic youth stuff in places, which is a sound that they never quite caught ever again!!!!

    t.... ....

you nailed it. that said, they developed in a way that still impresses and I'm just grateful they are sticking it out.

    t.... ....

It reminds me more of 80s Dinosaur Jr than anythimg else:melodic, folk-rock styled songwriting but with LOUD guitars, some heavy riffs, rocking solos and with lazy vocals as another layer in the sonic grind! I havent heard this album in 25 years but it is still good and quite different from the Big Star/power-pop direction they would go into on Bandwagonesque

    t.... ....

Sounds like Pavement too, which is funny because it predates them.

    t.... ....

lol sounds nothing like spacemen 3, unless you mean one of their very soft songs. this is a really chill album and not really 'rocking' at all. not near as loud and hard as dino jr. either.

  17. L.... H....

How are they a British band when they are a Scottish band?

    L.... H....

Britain is an island which is made up of England, Scotland and Wales. That's how.

    L.... H....

@cupcake darling lol!! Yes I know.

    L.... H....

    No you didn't.

    L.... H....

NI ? Great Britain of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland ... idiot being pedantic over a subject he has no f*ing clue about (three in this thread) ... so British .... does not even know the difference between Great Britain and United Kingdom although it is PRINTED ON OUR PASSPORT.

    L.... H....

@thecarpy I suggest you have a closer look at your passport, then have a good hard think. Here's a clue: 'Great Britain' doesn't include Northern Ireland, which is why your passport says 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'.

  18. S.... P....

Uma das melhores bandas de rock de todos os tempos, pena que aqui no Brasil poucas pessoas conhecem e deixam de desfrutar de uma qualidade incrível de melodia e qualidade instrumental, feliz de quem curte...

    S.... P....

    Concordo Sergio! Grande banda!

    S.... P....

Muito boa, só conhecia a música the concept fui buscar mais , me viciei

    S.... P....

É uma das minhas favoritas também

    S.... P....

  19. P.... L....

    beautiful

  20. c.... ....

The only one album of TFC

  21. J.... F....

    Love this album.

  22. D.... S....

My cousin got me in to this way back when. We used to play Heavy Metal II (https://youtu.be/3elPO-FSLoY?t=1129) pitched up on the LP. Try it (click the cog on the video and set the speed to 1.25) - a better, more funky song!!

    D.... S....

+David Stone Haha, sounds so different. The guitar goes from rocking to shredding... I used to do that with the Aerosmith version of Come Together when I was younger. It was the only way it was bearable to me.

    D.... S....

+David Stone If you do it with the rest of the album they sound a lot like Sugar, Bob Mould's "other" band.

  23. J.... M....

btw, I'm pro-independence and an SNP supporter, just can't stand all this hating on the English. Some people are too hard line with their national pride, it's fucking boring and embarrassing.

    J.... M....

+John Muir Well said john, it is embarrassing. I mean as an englishman i don't complain when the yanks call bands like joy division, the beatles, the smiths, the fall, swell maps, the stones, bowie etc british acts, even if that does mean those bands being associated with fucking useless scottish wankers like deacon blue, fairground attraction, texas, big country and the proclaimers.

    J.... M....

+John Muir - We have it in Wales, it's pathetic.

    J.... M....

+John Muir i was raised by the woods. in neglect. went to an all catholic school out of charity from my mothers church. they called me satans child. put me in detention every day against a wall and made me do my homework against a wall. They took my lunch away and when i went home my grandmother wooped me. I fled to the woods. Im telling you this because I grew up to disagree with patriotism ,the establishment and any imaginary lines that bring abuse... Im listening to this beautiful music and youre a good person.

    J.... M....

+odiumimbues Dude, you need to write a book...

  24. J.... M....

The Fannies said it themselves; "Songs from Northern Britain."

    J.... M....

    Scotland are independent

  25. C.... d....

    suena bacan :3

    C.... d....

+Constanza díaz guíñez siempre hay un chileno en todos lados

  26. L.... ....

    great album. thx

  27. d.... ....

    masterpiece 1st album 1991

  28. k.... ....

East Kilbride, Bellshill, lanarkshire, scotland lol.. Marvellous album.. Have saw the fannies so many times and they are always excellent . Also most young bands start off rugged and raw and mellow with age and a changing of musical influences.. Fanclub are very Scottish but their influences range from folky scottish music to gnarly american alt rock/grunge.. I adore scottish pop/rock bands.. Pastels, teenage fanclub, vaselines. bmx bandits, soup dragons to name but a few.. All Scottish btw haha

    k.... ....

Don’t forget dogs die in hot cars!

  29. K.... G....

This album is fucking magnificent and not just cos i'm high.

  30. J.... P....

first time listening to this album and I absolutely love the sound

  31. P.... H....

    I have this on vinyl.

  32. n.... v....

still as good as 14 years ago :) genius guitars

  33. t.... ....

    fuckin ROCKS!

  34. J.... T....

No my comment was sound and still is.Go and look and find out who Andy White was.And this bands very Scottish and proud, everybody knows that.I bet that they are behind our Indy, like every other sane rational people that make up this land.Go try and troll somebody else please, with your Americano insults.

  35. S.... Z....

what a douche bag you made yourself look

  36. J.... T....

I am Scottish to,and hopefully we will not be in 2016.Its just the way this is wrote out that bugs me,it implies that some of the band members were not from Lanarkshire and might be English. Its always the same when any Scots do something good, they call it British. And all the good bands they had in the 60ties and 70ties that no longer make any music, they still call English.Funny as fuck that Andy White played with The Beatles though a Scottish drummer that was a session man who lives in the USA.

  37. J.... T....

British alternative rock band Teenage Fanclub, fuck that they are Scottish through and through, wonder what English knob head posted this up?

    J.... T....

More importantly, what knob head fucked up the order of the songs?

    J.... T....

G'day Cobbers, I'm an Australian that works with English, Irish and Scottish people who are a lot younger than me and they don't know who their legendary music heroes are.
I had to implore a 24 yr old Scotsman to get a ticket for The Fannies concert 15th Feb 2019 at The Metro Sydney. He got a ticket.
He didn't know who they were.
As an Australian music lover I know who Frank Ifield is and all the corny, daggy songs he had that went to No.1 in the UK and Oz.
I'm shocked and horrified that Irish people haven't heard of THIN LIZZY or STIFF LITTLE FINGERS or even THE BOOMTOWN RATS. I think The Undertones were Irish as well.
Feargal singing TEENAGE KICKS is one of the best songs I've heard.
For an English person not to know who BILLY BRAGG is astounds me, it's like an Australian not knowing who Paul Kelly is.
    It's your cultural heritage.
I'm probably asking too much of people. My apologies.
Oxygen, water, food and music are the essentials of my life.

  38. B.... B....

3rd best teenage fanclub album after bandwagonesque and thirteen
