This song is really beautiful, the lyrics are full of meaning, especially the first four verses and I like that Tarja uses different styles and not just the operatic style that she used to use almost exclusively.
She shows off the multiple shades and colors of her voice by changing from musical theater to ballad to the operatic style that made her famous. I'd dare to say, Perfection!

When you hear gorgeous soaring vocals in songs like these it makes me appreciate just how spoiled we are to have such a voice as Tarja's in the metal genre.......she always had the option with her superhuman talents to sell-out and become a pop queen, etc selling out stadiums of 50k people, instead of the intimate theatre concerts we enjoy of maybe 5k max.....just another endearing quality of the Goddess she's in it for the music not the money when lets face it she could dominate any genre she decided to sing for.....haha, except Hip-hop, I just cannot possibly picture Rapper Tarja.......I gotta go wash my mouth out with soap just for saying that :D

No hate, but why is this on the "METAL hotlist". It's not really metal. But I guess youtube "metal" is a little lighter on average.

@PsionicMonk No. This is not metal. The only metal genre I like is symphonic metal. And my favourite band in this genre is Therion. I am less fond of growls and grunts in metal nowadays as I start to realize without those injected for variety or colour in the songs, they are average melodies buried under all that histrionic vocals.

Nafisah Mohamed Not sure what the point of your reply is. I inquired about how this was metal with my comment. I also put quotations around metal to show it as a loose term or mockingly. The statement is pretty clearly using (youtube "metal") as an insult. Your personal opinion on screaming and growling has no bearing on what genre certain music is. It happens to be a definitive trait of modern metal, and yeah, some metao bands get away with clean vocals but they still have heavy riffing, fast beats, and (usually) some technical skill in soloing.
