Tallest Man On Earth, The - I'll Be A Sky Lyrics
I'll be a sky, so full of vanity now
That little falcon's diving too, lover
So when I'm restless they could leave somehow
What in the world I'm gonna do out here
But I don't really mind, oh, when my heart feels young
I travel through the storms but then I hang to dry
And I don't really mind, oh, when my arm is in the rain and the sun
And they'll be working the only skies I know
Working the only skies I'll ever know
The sun is up there like a blazing eye
And I go swimming in the cold river
And I get hungry for the big ideas
I feel that I'm a little strange most of the time
But I don't really mind, oh, when my heart feels strong
I travel through the storms but then I hang to dry
And I don't really mind, oh, when my arm is in the rain and the sun
As they'll be working the only skies I know
Working the only skies I'll ever know
I travel the fever road
I travel clouds of my mistakes
And sure, I can drift away
But I'll be just around the corner from your love
There is a world within the world somehow
And it will steal me in the long winter
Oh, how I wish that I could call it now
Just to remember there is peace somewhere
I feel that I'm a little strange most of the time
But I don't really mind, oh, when my heart feels strong
I travel through the storms but then I hang to dry
And I don't really mind, oh, when my arm's in the rain and the sun
And they'll be working the only skies I know
Working the only skies I'll ever know

Tallest Man On Earth, The I'll Be A Sky Comments
Cant help but sing along to this when I'm biking around.
wow!!!!!!! you are really talented.. this is a great song..
One of my favourite tracks from your incredible new album. You have returned to your folkiest roots and it is just marvelous<3
The tallest man on earth is a constant companion for years now, through summer and winter, through summer and winter of my mind. One album was the summer I learned to love, one ones the summer I learned to let go. The winter of being away from everyone and the winter of coming back. This music will grow old with me and be a window to the stories of my life
Seconded. 'Dark Bird is Home' came out the day of my granddad's funeral, a year after a bitter-sweet break-up. 'I love you. It's a fever dream' comes as i'm entering into a new chapter entirely - a psychedelic and spiritual one, that's allowing me to appreciate life so much more than I ever have, but also it's illusory natures, and in-and-of that, death itself... - and the lyrics here relate remarkably well to my immediate experiences. I've found that for me, Kristian has become a prophet of sorts, and a cultural brother, whom I turn to when in doubt. No doubt though that many others feel the same and similarly. Peace and love.
@DEED I feel the same exact way man incredibly enough. Cheers
my favorite
Thank you for this wonderful album, and for this song especially! (It is so folk-y and beautiful!)
